In light of the upcoming playoff series between the Boston Celtics and New York Knicks, coach Doc Rivers explained his strategy for guarding Carmelo Anthony. The Boston Globe's Baxter Holmes tweeted regarding Doc's comments: On guarding Melo, Doc said they'll use three guys vs. just one because Melo is a "foul magnet." — Baxter Holmes (@BaxterHolmes) April 15, 2013 Doc: "Because if you guard him alone, you’re going to get into foul trouble. We want to avoid that as much as possible." — Baxter Holmes (@BaxterHolmes) April 15, 2013 Doc may look to assign Jeff Green, Paul Pierce, and maybe even Brandon Bass to guard Anthony for the duration of this series. Doc isn't a rigid coach though, I'd expect if he sees another player does particularly well guarding Anthony, then he'd switch to that matchup. Right now, I don't think anyone could predict what's up Doc's sleeve.
