After all the hype and drama going into Thursday’s trade deadline, the Boston Celtics settled for a piece to their 2013 puzzle instead of putting in two of their Big Three chips. Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge wanted a little boost for his roster, but he didn’t have much to offer or cap space to work with. Eventually, he spotted his man: Jordan Crawford. Crawford, who was acquired from the Washington Wizards for Leandro Barbosa‘s expiring contract and Jason Collins, was averaging 13.2 points, 3.7 assists and 3.1 rebounds a game this year before falling out of favor in Washington. It’s that raw talent, and another quality that Doc Rivers noticed, that has the Celtics coach thinking Crawford could work out in Boston. “The good thing and the bad thing I hear about him is his confidence,” Rivers said. “You rarely say that, but it’s tough for him there to buy into a role because he looked at himself as, ‘I’m better than them.’ I’m hoping that we don’t have that is

Jordan Crawford and Kevin Garnett nearly came to blows a couple summers back

When the Boston Celtics traded for Jordan Crawford yesterday I joked about how I didn't want Kevin Garnett to end up with a murder rap on his record after he went off on Jordan Crawford for not playing any defense (his reputation). Turns out the two almost came to blows not too far back. I actually remember this story, but it had slipped my mind. Thanks to CSNNE'S Jessica...

Is Jordan Crawford a good fit in Boston?

When I think "Washington Wizards" the first thing that comes to mind is a terrible squad full of young guys who all try to pad their own stats.  Good team basketball is hardly their forte.  Whether it be the culture of the organization, or the fault of the individual, Jordan Crawford has fit right into this mold during his time in D.C.  The guy loves to shoot. Before...

Your Morning Dump… Where KG hasn’t been the same since the 3OT game

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. Celtics coach Doc Rivers said he could tell that the 36-year-old Garnett hasn’t been the same since a triple-overtime victory over Denver on Feb. 10. Garnett played 47 minutes in that game. The Celtics played...
