Found August 27, 2013 on Pro Sports Daily:
Play nice guys. That essentially was the directive given to owners James Dolan of the Knicks and Mikhail Prokhorov of the Nets this past season during a meeting orchestrated by NBA Commissioner David Stern who wanted to snuff any lingering tension between the two and prevent a full-blown feud multiple league sources told The Post. “There was such a meeting and the parties both said it was a very cordial and pleasant one” said one league official with knowledge of the sit-down which happened early in the season. The official also confirmed Stern assisted in getting the pair together in an attempt to prevent a wave of spitballs going back and forth over the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges. See? It’s not just players like Paul Pierce and Raymond Felton fueling the feud between the two NBA teams sharing the city. It has been going on for a while but the Nets no longer are the poor stepchild performing in a New Jersey swamp. Another person with direct knowledge of the sit-down called...

The Knicks and Brooklyn Nets are both vying to own New York, and the NBA supports such competition. The league would just prefer the competition between the two franchises be a bit more friendlier.  The New York Post is reporting that the NBA ordered Knicks owner James Dolan and Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov to tone down their rivalry, and avoid any tension between the two franchises...

Stern warning for Nets, Knicks owners

David Stern, concerned that the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets were being too mean to each other, called a meeting last season with the teams' respective owners to ask them to tamp down the rivalry. No, you did not accidentally stumble into the sports section of The Onion. This really happened, according to the New York Post. The commissioner of the NBA doesn't want his...

Haddadi 'still possible' to Knicks

Free-agent center Hamed Haddadi who worked out for the Knicks on Aug. 16 might not be done with the team yet. A source close to the player says it is "still possible" that Haddadi signs with New York. The Knicks technically have only one roster spot remaining but C.J. Knicks Talk: Remembering the Original “Dream” Dean Meminger

By Charles R. Trimble III It’s not often you get to meet a NBA champion, but I was fortunate enough to meet Dean Meminger during the summer of 99’ in a very unlikely place, an East Harlem pizza shop on 116th Street & 3rd Ave. It was crazy, because the last place you expect to see a star of any stature is in your hood, especially a not-so-friendly hood like Spanish Harlem...

Mike D’Antoni is still talking about Phil Jackson

There are two people that the current Los Angeles Lakers regime will never stop talking about and neither of them is Kobe Bryant.  Those semi-unfortunate objects of the Lakers malcontent and affection are former center Dwight Howard and ex-coach Phil Jackson. It seems that there is indeed a thin line between love and hate. Lakers coach Mike D’Antoni continues to allow the public...

Lala Says She’ll Cut Carmelo Anthony’s Dick Off If He Cheats on Her

This is part of a bigger story in GQ about Media Take Out, but besides not sourcing who started the Honey Nut Cheerios story (umm it was me), Lala had an opportunity to ask the Media Take Out founder Fred Mwangaguhunga if heard about Carmelo Anthony ever cheating. The conversation goes as follows. Fred doesn’t know much more than that about where the rumor came from. Which is...

Jason Kidd sets a very Rajon Rondo-like goal for Deron Williams of 10 assist per game

On Sunday, Brooklyn Nets head coach Jason Kidd told the media that one of his goals for point guard Deron Williams this year is for Williams to average 10 assists per game, a number that immediately made me think of Rajon Rondo and his amazing streak of 37 games with 10 or more assists last season. From New York Daily News:  “I’m going to push him. I want the best for him...
