Found February 27, 2013 on Project Spurs:
San Antonio Spurs' Tim Duncan added on more accomplishment on Wednesday night when the Phoenix Suns visited the AT&T Center. Duncan became the 11th player in NBA history to 20,000 points and 13,000 rebounds when he notched in his fifth rebound during the third quarter of the game. This only adds to Duncan's legacy as the "Greatest Power Forward of All Time" as he continues to break records at 36 years old while on his quest for his fifth championship ring this season.

Spurs' Brown hopes Olympics leads to NBA job

Brett Brown has been on the San Antonio bench for 12 years now, coaching under Gregg Popovich during a run of organizational stability that is rare in this day and age, and perhaps one of the biggest reasons the Spurs have been able to sustain such a high level of success over the last decade and a half. Chris Finch has been more of a nomad, bouncing from gig to gig on a journey...

Spurs’ Tony Parker tried to conceal injury

San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker was sidelined Sunday night due to a right triceps contusion. It’s not expected to keep him sidelined long, as it’s now being reported he’ll return Wednesday, but it came out yesterday that he attempted to conceal the injury from head coach Gregg Popovich, according to Mike Monroe of Spurs Nation.Popovich told reporters that Parker was a...

State of the Spurs: Too relaxed at home

The Spurs had finished a long road trip. It was nine games in 25 days and while that's a nice stretch of time to spend away from home, a game every 2.8 days not an especially taxing grind by NBA standards. A reasonable expectation would have been for the Spurs, owners of the NBA's best record, to return home to San Antonio and throttle the Phoenix Suns, who are tied for...

Spurs recall Joseph, send Baynes to Austin

The San Antonio Spurs have announced they've recalled Cory Joseph from the Austin Toros and have sent seldom used Aron Baynes to Austin. [Press release] Joseph recalled and Baynes assigned to @austintoros: http://j.mp/Z0wAxY (@spurs) The Spurs may have made the move with Gary Neal being out with an injury the past few games and wanting some insurance in the point...

Don't expect Boris Diaw 2.0 this March

The NBA trade deadline has come and gone and the San Antonio Spurs didn't make a move for your favorite player on the trade block (one day Derrick Williams, one day).  While a deal wasn't made (sorry DeJuan, I wanted you to go to a team that could give you a consistent role too), that doesn't mean NBA teams are done dealing.  March 1st is the deadline for players...

(Video) Manu Ginobili: A Career in Unchartered Waters

As Manu Ginobili’s career approaches its conclusion, let’s take a look at how he has refined his game from a high flying acrobat that blasted on the scene during the San Antonio Spurs’ second title run during the 2003 playoffs to being part of “the Big 3," along with Tim Duncan and Tony Parker. Ginobili is a prime example of the benefits that arise from the Spurs’...

No Doubt About It, Popovich Deserves Team USA Nod

With coach Mike Krzyzewski retiring from Team USA basketball, the organization needs a replacement. There's some names being thrown around, but there's only one coach that deserves the nod.  San Antonio Spurs' head coach Gregg Popovich has the resume for the job and more than qualified for the position compared to his competition for the job. Pop's four NBA championships...

Stephen Jackson Injury Update

Stephen Jackson went to the locker room during the second quarter with an injury. It was tweeted from Project Spurs' own Paul Garcia that the San Antonio Spurs have updated Jackson's injury status. @spurs: Injury update: Stephen Jackson (sprained right ankle) will not return to tonight's game. O’Neal, Suns defeat Spurs in return home

“I think overall we made a lot of mental errors,” said San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich after his number-one seeded Spurs fell to the team that ranked last in the Western Conference coming into Wednesday, the Phoenix Suns, 105-101 in overtime. Popovich said one of the Spurs’ biggest mental collapses came with 3.7 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Then, the...

Spurscast #285: Parker's rank among NBA point guards and who the Spurs should fear in the West

This week's episode of the Spurscast is my first attempt as host. Hopefully I'll be cranking these out on a weekly basis, so look forward to many more to come. My fellow Project Spurs writer, Trevor Zickgraf, joins me this week and first up on our agenda we discuss Tony Parker's rank among NBA point guards. As a big Chris Paul fan, Trevor is reluctant to put TP as...

Popovich: Spurs Unlikely To Change Roster

The Spurs have the NBA maximum 15 players on their roster.

Kings-Spurs Preview

After opening their six-game homestand with a stunning loss to one of the teams at the bottom of the Western Conference, the San Antonio Spurs likely won't take anything for granted when they face another. The league-best Spurs hope to bounce back from a rare home defeat and continue their success against the Sacramento Kings on Friday night. Fresh off a 7-2 road trip and riding...
