So...I was going to let this "Dunk of the Year" nonsense go without saying anything, but this has gotten completely out of control.

ESPN has pushed me to the limit on their ability to pump ANY and EVERYTHING! I’m watching SportsCenter on Tuesday night and John Brenkus is breaking down the differences in Blake Griffin’s dunk over Kendrick Perkins and LeBron James’ dunk over John Lucas III.

I love the Los Angeles Clippers but seriously…ENOUGH ALREADY!

How can any dunk be the dunk of the year when the NBA has only been in session two months and we haven’t even approached the second month of 2012 yet?

Uhhhmmm hello!

I saw both dunks and I thought LeBron’s dunk looked like something the guys prepare for during the Slam Dunk Contest at the NBA All-Star Weekend. He floated over Lucas and dunked the ball with one hand…it was awesome.

Now that’s not say that Griffin’s slam over Perkins didn’t leave an impact. I mean he slammed the rock with intensity, passion and precision. That should teach Perkins to get in the way of last year’s Slam Dunk Contest winner.

Lol you better ask somebody about BG!

Beastly? YES!

Better? I’m not so sure.

There is still a lot of NBA basketball to be played. I am so excited that these guys come out and put on a great show, especially since the Los Angeles Clippers are putting it down but can we please wait on crowning this year’s dunk master?

The chatter will continue and I will continue to be annoyed with all of it but I’m almost sure ESPN will solve the great debate this summer during the ESPY Awards show.

Hmmm after the season is over? What a concept!

Blake Griffin posterizes Kendrick Perkins

“Great googly moogly"

Blake Griffin dunking on Kendrick Perkins is now officially a T-shirt (Picture)

The term “posterized” is probably the most overused word in basketball. Very few of the dunks we rant and rave about over the course of an NBA season actually make their way onto a poster. Unfortunately for Kendrick Perkins, some of them do. Even worse, some become T-shirts. Check out this Blake Griffin T-shirt that The Basketball Jones passed along:   If you have $20 and...

Kendrick Perkins Should Just Retire

…. At some point you have to realize that the game has passed you by. That 27 is the new 37. That getting Blake Griffin’s dick thrown in your nostril is not a good look. Hang them up and go be a car salesman or something. I don’t know, clearly basketball is no longer perk’s thing.

Blake Griffin’s dunk on Kendrick Perkins was great, but here are four by Vince Carter and Shawn Kemp that are better

I don’t know what our obsession is as sports fans with always wanting to rank players, teams, and plays.  So often, we end up arguing for hours and we never stop and appreciate the player/team/play that we are defending. However, after last night’s Blake Griffin dunk, I think some people are getting a LITTLE bit carried away.  Was it the best dunk of the year?  Of course....

Paul leads Clippers past NBA-leading Thunder

Chris Paul had 26 points and 14 assists, Blake Griffin added 22 points and a monstrous dunk, and the Los Angeles Clippers beat Oklahoma City 112-100 Monday night, snapping the Thunder's four-game winning streak in a matchup of division leaders.

Clippers soar to top of Pacific Division

The bad old days are becoming a distant memory for the high-flying Los Angeles Clippers. They lead the Pacific Division, have landed Chris Paul and Blake Griffin as starters on the All-Star team and in the process have stolen, at least for the moment, the spotlight from the Lakers.

Kevin Durant: Blake Griffin’s Epic Dunk on Perkins Was a ‘Layup’

by Marcel Mutoni / @marcel_mutoni There was universal agreement that Blake Griffin threw down the dunk of the season a few nights ago, a monster finish over OKC Thunder center Kendrick Perkins. Well, almost universal. Perkins’ teammate Kevin Durant didn’t join in the League-wide celebration of the epic throw-down, gamely defending his big man by downplaying the play as merely...
