Dwight Howard will prove all the so-called ”experts” wrong next year. Yes I said it, but not for the reason you are thinking as you sit there reading the opening line. Once all the dust settles and Dwight Howard is a Los Angeles Laker, things will have changed for the Western Conference. This is where things will get interesting and “Superman” will swoop in and start proving writers, sports analyst, and so-called “experts” wrong.
All last year, during the playoffs, and shortly after the season all we heard was, the Oklahoma City Thunder are going to be that team. That team that wins multiple championships. That team that was put together properly and will have a run like Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls. All these expectations were laid at the feet of the Oklahoma City Thunder, but it seems that Dwight Howard and the Los Angeles Lakers have a plan, a plan that will involve Kobe Bryant getting his sixth NBA title.
The Los Angeles Lakers are currently working on assembling a team that will give them one last championship run with Kobe Bryant. With the addition of Steve Nash this off season, things have already started looking better for the Lakers. Then the Lakers remove an immature and injury prone Andrew Bynum and add a beast of a center named Dwight Howard to their roster. Then you throw in one of the deadliest NBA players of all time, Kobe Bryant, sprinkle in a little Pau Gasol and now you have a serious contender. Now if the Lakers don’t use the amnesty option on Meta World Peace, as long as he stays out of trouble, things could really heat up in the Western Conference. Lets not forget that the Lakers also added a really good veteran named Antawn Jamison to give the Lakers some depth on their bench to help match up to an explosive Thunder team.
Projected Starting Line up:
PG Steve Nash
SG Kobe Bryant
SF Meta World Peace
PF Pau Gasol
C Dwight Howard
With that starting line up and the pieces they have added to their bench, it is starting to look like all the experts were wrong about Oklahoma and their run. But I am not going to fault all those who said this about the Thunder, I mean nobody saw this move coming. I never thought I would see that starting line up assembled on any team. Each of them bringing their special little contribution. I am not even a Lakers fan and with this squad on the floor, I would pick the Lakers to take it all. This is an All-Star team.

It doesn’t stop there. Dwight Howard isn’t going to just prove the so-called ”experts” wrong just once, but he will do it twice. Not only do we all expect the Lakers to win the Western Conference, but how about the NBA Championship?
After the Miami Heat won the championship this last season, those so-called ”experts” starting claiming that this Miami Heat team could and would repeat again next year. Then once Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis were picked up by the Miami Heat, almost everyone (to include myself) became all in. Yes, I had dipped my finger into the kool-aid and sampled the flavor. Even on our radio show, 110 Sportz Talk Radio, we were all calling for the Miami Heat to take it again next year.
With two different styles of play, the Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers should make for a very interesting NBA Championship. A championship that would put the “Black Mamba” and “King James” in a showdown. A showdown that everyone is eager to see, better yet, begging to see. With both teams having a supporting cast, this will be a great series.
When all the graffiti has hit the ground, all the bottles of champagne have been emptied, and Kobe has his sixth title, there will be one thing that is going to be true. Whether you like Dwight Howard or not, whether you are a Lakers fan or not, or whether you liked the whole “indecision” or not, Dwight Howard will have proven that all these so-called ”experts” really just don’t know anything. Howard will have proven them all to be wrong. The Oklahoma City Thunder nor the Miami Heat will be NBA champs next year, Dwight Howard and the Los Angeles Lakers will reign supreme.
