5TH QUARTER MAGAZINE:
Dwight Howard was once associated with the Orlando Magic and the whole he said/she said continued to plague the league for almost a year. Now that he is with the Los Angeles Lakers, everyone seems to have forgotten about the whole “Dwightmare” that surrounded him and the Magic.
At that time of difficulty between both parties, other teams were clearing space in an attempt to land the young and athletic center. One of those teams included the Houston Rockets. In a report by the Los Angeles Daily News, Dwight Howard would have accepted a trade to the Houston Rockets. Of course, Howard had a short list of teams he preferred to be traded to and those teams are the Brooklyn Nets and the Los Angeles Lakers. Had the Orlando Magic seen key pieces that interested them from the Houston Rockets, Dwight would be suited up in a white and red jersey in H-Town right now. According to Dwight, he would have given the Rockets all his effort and said,
I would’ve gone there and played. I didn’t have a problem with it. At the same time, there were two places that I’d rather go to and I’m here at one of them. I’m happy. If I would’ve gone to Houston, I would’ve played as hard as I could with the Rockets.
Dwight Howard is playing his media cards right. Of course he would have played for Houston if he were traded there. On the other hand, the whole point of the trade was to send him to a team that he would sign an extension with.
BEST OF MAXIM
In last night’s game against the Houston Rockets, Kobe Bryant recorded his 18th triple-double of his veteran career. Not only was the Black Mamba being his usual self being a scorer and hitting the most difficult shots, but he was also grabbing rebounds and dishing out assists. Most of his assists came from Dwight Howard being active and catching Kobe’s lobs.
When the Dwight...

Deron Williams may have been more anxious than any other player or coach in the NBA during the whole Dwight Howard saga that took place last season. PAST IS THE PAST
Lakers big man Dwight Howard doesn't appear too concerned about a rift that has seemingly developed between him and his former pal, Nets star Deron Williams.
Brooklyn Nets (6-2) vs. Los Angeles Lakers (5-5)
This was not supposed to be the first time Dwight Howard and Deron Williams were supposed to share the court together. They were supposed to be in the same uniform, in fact, not opposite colors. That was the plan at least.
It was pretty clear from the moment Dwight Howard asked out of Orlando that he wanted...
LOS ANGELES Ten games into the season, it's probably safe to say that the Lakers have arrived. Or they've returned, depending upon your point of view.

Since the firing of Mike Brown the Lakers are 4-1, with the only loss coming against the San Antonio Spurs. Kobe is currently the leagues leading scorer, averaging 26.4/game and they are getting the contributions they were expecting from Pau Gasol and Dwight Howard. It’s still another week or so before Steve Nash comes back, [...]
