Josh Harrellson, who was a part of the 4 player trade that landed the Knicks Marcus Camby, sent out a tweet pointing to him joining the Miami Heat.

Josh Harrellson ‏@BigJorts55:
Kentucky it’s been fun! Glad I got to see everyone! Now heading to Miami for hopefully the next 9 months

This might just point to a training camp invite, but even if it is, I have a feeling he would be a lock to make the team.  Miami has needed quality big man since the formation of the big 3 in 2010.

Toughness and rebounding is something Jorts definitely brings.  But he also brings an outside jump shot.  Besides Udonis Haslem, the other Heat “centers” are almost no threat offensively.  Adding Josh to the Heat would add even more players to space the floor.

The Heat have already added great outside shooting in the forms of Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis.  Imagine the space LeBron and Wade with have to operate if they played Wade at PG, Allen at SG, Lewis at SF, Bron at PF and Harrellson at Center.

But how do Knicks fans feel about this?

Most of us wished the rules for resigning players after trades were put off for one more year.  Almost every Knick fan I know would have loved to resign Jorts after the Houston Rockets released him.  As you probably know, the new CBA states that a player traded from team A and released by team B cannot resign with team A for one calendar year.

The NBA wanted this because it was more than apparent that teams were colluding with each other when trading players.  Teams were agreeing to release some players they were to acquire so the original team could resign them.  It was happening all the time.

That practice is now long gone, for the Knicks, it may have come a year too soon for their liking.

Rondo has warning for Lin

With Jeremy Lin headed off to Houston to play for the Rockets, he and Rajon Rondo are no longer division rivals.
