The Bucks are near an agreement with veteran point guard Earl Boykins, a move which would complete Milwaukee’s point guard trio for the 2010-’11 season. Sources indicated a one-year deal could be reached within the next week to bring Boykins back to the Bucks for a second time. The 5-foot-5 guard played last season with the Washington Wizards and appeared in 67 games while averaging 6.6 points and 2.6 assists in 16.7 minutes per game. Boykins, 34, has played for nine NBA teams in 11 seasons. He was a popular player with the Bucks during the 2006-’07 season after being obtained in a trade with the Denver Nuggets. The Bucks needed help in the backcourt that season after injuries sidelined Michael Redd and Mo Williams. Boykins stepped in and played in 35 games, including 19 starts, and averaged 14.0 points.
