Rudy Fernandez is expected to miss the rest of the regular season.
Fernandez, a Denver Nuggets guard, is expected to have surgery on his lower back. He first injured his back on March 19th against the Dallas Mavericks.
After that game, he has undergone further evaluations and diagnostic tests. He has missed the past 12 games with the injury.
He played in 31 games for the Nuggets, averaging 8.6 points, 2.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.03 steals. This is his first season with the Nuggets after getting traded to the team in December.
Fernandez was traded to the Nuggets with Corey Brewer for a future second round pick.
