TEAMS: Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers put an end to the Boston Celtics five game winning streak Thursday night at the Boston Garden; however the Celtics did not go down without a battle taking their opponents to overtime before finally succumbing as they lost by a final score of 88-87. The victory for Los Angeles snapped their own two game losing streak as Kobe Bryant led the way with a game high 27 points while Pau Gasol racked up a double-double including 25 points for the night. Ray Allen led the Celtics attack with 22 points while Paul Pierce added 18 points in the loss.
This contest had the tempo of a Post Season game as it was a lot of slow down basketball and the two opponents relied more on their defensive strengths than their offensive skills. This was not a sloppy game as both teams kept control of the rock with very few turnovers for either side. Instead it reflected the philosophies of both clubs’ head coaches; Mike Brown with the Lakers and Doc Rivers with Boston; who have both...

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.

Vote: Would You Trade Rajon Rondo for Pau Gasol?
Rajon Rondo's name won't stop coming up in trade rumors, and Pau Gasol was all but dealt to the Mavericks this past offseason. Raptors 86, Celtics 74: Make it two straight hideous defeats
The Boston Celtics took more than two minutes to score, and when they did, their first two points were the result of a bogus foul call. An off-balance Kevin Garnett jump shot bounded off the backboard and almost smacked Mickey Mouse, chilling on his couch down in Florida, more than 1,000 miles away, straight between the eyes, but Garnett was sent to the foul line and made both free...
Enemy Chatter: KG was repeatedly allowed to miss shots
I often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics after playing the Celtics. Here's a dose of 'enemy chatter' from Los Angeles.
The Lakers survived because the Celtics couldn't take advantage of another weak offensive output. Ray Allen hit some shots early, and one big three late, but Paul Pierce could only manage...
