The Boston Celtics raised banner number 17 Tuesday night, and then took their first steps in their attempt to win number 18 as they defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers in a hard fought game 90-85. Paul Pierce led all scorers in the victory at the "New Garden" with 27 points. Cavaliers All-Star forward LeBron James had 22 points, as he certainly looked in peak form, despite playing all Summer with Team USA.
