When you hear “strained left calf” you think alright, he’ll miss a week or so, maybe longer if it’s a bad one. Six weeks ago, Francisco Garcia went down with a relatively innocuous seeming calf injury…he has yet to set foot back on the floor for a game.
There’s still no definite word on when ‘Cisco will make his long awaited return but when he does, there’s going to be some new competition in the Kings’ back court. Before last week’s trade deadline, Sacramento acquired shooting guard Marcus Thornton from the New Orleans Hornets for forward Carl Landry. Garcia was a fixture in Sacto’s starting lineup before he went down, but between the amount of time he has been out and Thornton’s arrival, regaining his spot in the rotation is going to be a tough task.
