The San Antonio Spurs (21-8) will host the Toronto Raptors (9-19) tonight in the AT&T Center as the Raptors put their current 5-game winning streak on the line.
This will be the Spurs and Raptors final meeting this season. It took double-overtime for the Spurs to beat the Raptors in Toronto last month 111-106. Tony Parker scored six of his 32 points in the second overtime and Tim Duncan had 26. DeMar DeRozan led Toronto with 29 points, while rookie Jonas Valanciunas had 22.
To discuss tonight's contest, I spoke with Sean Francois of Raptors blog Hoop Heads North. The best Raptors blog on the Internet by far. In this Q&A Sean talks on why the Raptors are on a winning streak, what is the early prognosis for rookie Valanciunas, tonight's key matchup and more.
Jeff: The Raptors are currently on a 5-game winning streak. What do you pinpoint as the reason for this winning streak considering the team's rough start to the season?
Sean: Defense. Ther...

Raptors’ Jonas Valanciunas To Miss 4-6 Weeks With Broken Finger
Jonas Valanciunas will be out of action for four to six weeks but there was some good news with regard to the fractured metacarpal on the ring finger of his right hand. The good news is no surgery will be required.
“He saw a hand specialist,” Raps head coach Dwane Casey said before Wednesday’s game. “But he doesn’t have to have surgery and that’s the main thing, the...
Raptors Interested In Trading Kyle Lowry?
Kyle Lowry has played in 16 of the Raptors first 28 games where he’s averaged 15.8 points, 5.8 assists and 5.6 rebounds a game. Lowry has yet to return from a tear in his right triceps that had him slated to miss 10 days on December 12.
Though he’s out now injured, the Raptors supposedly would like to put Kyle Lowry in a trade package and keep Jose Calderon. The Raptors give...
De Colo earning his minutes
Nando De Colo's rookie season with the San Antonio Spurs wasn't supposed to be this impressive.
He was supposed to be learning how to play the NBA style and grab a feel for things with his new teammates. The knock on him was that he wasn't athletic enough to be relevant in the game and his defense was poor.
If you've seen him play with the Spurs so far this...
Matchup of the Game: Spurs vs. Raptors
The matchup of the game between the Toronto Raptors visiting the San Antonio Spurs in their last meeting of the season will be between Toronto's DeMar DeRozan and San Antonio's Kawhi Leonard.

Leonard's return fuels defense for Spurs
The San Antonio Spurs have gone away from the defensive, shutdown philosophy that made them so successful in the past. It’s not a huge problem because they’ve improved the offense as well and can still win by outscoring their opponents, but on the year, the Spurs are giving up 97 points per game.
One reason the Spurs could be giving up so many points is the fact that Kawhi...
First-half recap: Spurs vs. Raptors
The San Antonio Spurs and Toronto Raptors got things underway at the AT&T Center tonight and in the first half, the Spurs knew this Raptors team was not going to play like their record suggests heading into tonight's contest.
Thanks to some timely defense down the stretch of the first-half by Matt Bonner and Kawhi Leonard, the Spurs took a 44-37 halftime lead.

Pop trying to mold Leonard into Bowen like defender
When Kawhi Leonard came back from injury, many San Antonio Spurs fans were excited and also worried if he would need a long time to adjust back into the thick of things. To their delight, the fan base can breathe a sigh of relief and re-new their hopes for a championship run.
Leonard got his shot back in the second game of his return against the Dallas Mavericks and, more importantly...
Video: Spurs rain down threes on Mavs, set franchise record
Not even the return of Dirk Nowitzki could have stopped the San Antonio Spurs from blitzing the Dallas Mavericks from the three-point line in their recent tussle.
The Spurs set a franchise-record 20 three pointers made in a game eclipsing their previous record of 19 three-pointers made versus the Bobcats earlier this season.
The Spurs were led by Danny Green's 7-8 from...

All-Star Game Second Returns Are In
The second returns for the All-Star game are in and it's not looking good for the San Antonio Spurs and their fan base.
