The Los Angeles Clippers are engaged in discussions with the Boston Celtics on a deal that would involve Kevin Garnett and Doc Rivers.
The Clippers would send DeAndre Jordan and two first round picks to the Celtics for Garnett and the right to hire Rivers as their head coach.
Garnett is willing to waive his no-trade clause.
Donald Sterling is prepared to pay Rivers an annual salary of $7 million.
The Celtics are also seeking the inclusion of Eric Bledsoe, but the Clippers want to include him in another package.
The Celtics and Rivers seek a resolution to the talks within the next few days.

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
So Rivers is grappling with two potential scenarios: Coaching a team that could be a legitimate contender in the Clippers, which could be a refreshing start, or once again bringing one of the most storied franchises...
Where there’s Donald Sterling there’s smoke but no fire CLNSRadio’s Nick Gelso just wrote a great piece about the ongoing Doc Rivers saga. If you haven’t yet checked it out, it’s a great read. My attitude towards the rumors, innuendo, and general teeth-gnashing and wailing has been to not let myself get too worked up about the situation. The reality is that no one...
The Boston Celtics denied the Los Angeles Clippers' request earlier this week to talk to Doc Rivers about their head coaching job, according to a source.
Danny Ainge has rejected all official requests for Rivers, including from the Brooklyn Nets and now the Clippers.
Rivers is mulling over his future as coach of the Celtics.
Rivers has been leading the Celtics' pre-draft workout process.
Doc Rivers has not ruled out taking time off from coaching for a return to his broadcasting career and returning afterward to coaching, according to a source.
"You guys (media) have been around Doc long enough to know that's always been something he's talked about," the source said. "So it shouldn't come as a surprise.
"And frankly, now is probably...
If the Clippers or any other team is interested in obtaining Doc Rivers’ services, they are going to have to come up with some players, cash, or serious draft picks to compensate the Celtics with.
CBSSports.com is reporting that Rivers has a strong non-compete clause in his contract with the Celtics that calls for compensation if another franchise wants him.
The clause says that...
Where Doc Rivers will coach next season, if he will at all, is still to be determined.
The latest reports have Rivers leaving Boston to either coach the L.A. Clippers or hanging up the clipboard for a bit to return to broadcasting. There's always the possibility that Rivers could come back to coach the Celtics, but as CSNNE's A. Sherrod Blakely points out, that option is...

That was fast. A few hours ago, a KG-to-LA in a “trade” that involved Doc Rivers was allegedly going hot and heavy. All the local guys were chiming in with their sources too, making it seem like this thing...
Steve Bulpett is reporting in the Herald that now that the cat is out of the bag and everyone knows that Doc and the Clippers have a mutual admiration society, the teams have begun talks that could lead to a deal getting done.
With some clear mutual interest having been established, the situation has progressed to the point where the Celtics and Clippers are now engaging in talks...
Not so fast, DeAndre Jordan and Eric Bledsoe.
What a crazy Saturday this has been. Doc Rivers was apparently on the table in a trade that would have also shipped KG and Pierce to LA. Of course, Danny Ainge had some crazy demands and it seems like the deal was hung up on Eric Bledsoe's inclusion.
And so, it appears both teams have now moved on?
Umm? RT @BA_Turner: Clippers...
The Clippers and Celtics are discussing a potential deal involving

At this point it seems like a matter of when, not if, Doc Rivers departs Boston.
Despite talks between the Clippers and Celtics hitting an impasse over the weekend, it appears that talks to send Rivers and Kevin Garnett to Los Angeles in a multi-layered package deal are not totally dead after all. Now that it is clear the Clippers will not include point guard Eric Bledsoe in the...
A couple of months ago, ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith brought forwards an interesting proposition, if crazy one. With the Boston Celtics on their last legs as a contender and head-coach Doc Rivers unsure if he wanted to be a part of another rebuilding plan in Boston, an idea was brought forward that would essentially send Doc, and forwards Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett to Los Angeles...
It would be complicated, but not impossible.
There's a rising belief around the NBA that Doc, KG & Pierce all want to carry on as a trio in Clipperland if they can't roll on in Boston
