The NBA was in full force yesterday for Christmas, and pretty much all the games were worth a watch.  In addition to the joyfulness of the Holiday, there were also a few scraps.  Tempers ran high in the Celtics vs. Nets game when Gerald Wallace decided to grab Kevin Garnett's shorts after an offensive rebound.  The two were broken up quickly, but the play non the less was very awkward. Russell Westbrook also got heated in the OKC Thunder match up with the Miami Heat.  A rematch of last years NBA Finals.  You know both teams have mutual respect, but they both want the title again this year.  Westbrook got fouled hard by Dwyane Wade and Shane Battier when he went up for a fast break layup.  He went flying into the bottom of the rim then hopped up with his fists clinched like he wanted to knock out Battier.  Serge Ibaka then got in the mix with Wade and they shoved each other for a few more seconds.  In the end Christmas was saved and no punches were thrown.  Check out the two f...

Gerald Wallace calls out teammates

With the Brooklyn Nets struggling as of late, Gerald Wallace has taken issue with how his teammates are responding to the slide and made his feelings known.

Video: Kevin Garnett and CSNNE team sound off on Gerald Wallace altercation

In the 4th quarter of today's Boston Celtics-Brooklyn Nets game, Kevin Garnett and Gerald Wallace along with Courtney Lee and Andray Blatche both received double technical fouls when Wallace grabbed Garnett's shorts, resulting in a small altercation (video of the incident can be viewed here). In the video above, the Comcast Sports Net New England commentators as well as...

Russell Westbrook Slams Scorer’s Table After No-Call On Game-Tying 3

With 6 seconds remaining in Christmas Day’s Heat-Thunder Finals rematch in Miami, Russell Westbrook launched a potential game-tying 3. Knocked down on the play, Westbrook though for sure he would receive a foul call, but that wasn’t the case. In fact, there was only ONE replay shown. He didn’t respond well to the no-call, slamming the nearby scorer’s table:

Kevin Garnett: “He just jacked my shorts”

In the Celtics early start on Christmas Day, CSN viewers were surrounded with holiday spirit, including anecdotal stories of KG buying Scal a Louis Vuitton suitcase, and Keyon Dooling dishing out holiday cheer like it he was playing point guard again.  Then things became reminiscent of the last meeting between Brooklyn and Boston when Gerald Wallace and Kevin Garnett got a little...

Kevin Garnett Describes Heated Exchange With Gerald Wallace, Confused by Forward’s ‘Shenanigans’ (Video)

Gerald Wallace‘s gift for Kevin Garnett this Christmas came in the form of a fistful of shorts — a present KG wasn’t too thrilled to receive. Wallace and Garnett had a rather heated exchange during the fourth quarter of Tuesday’s matinee clash between the Nets and Celtics. Garnett tried to hold Wallace up after the Brooklyn forward was fouled in the paint,  but instead of...

State of the Thunder: Westbrook ends skid

OKLAHOMA CITY For most of Thursday's game, the Thunder looked like they were on a losing streak and it looked like Russell Westbrook was somewhere between uninterested and lost. Westbrook was dreadful 2-of-9 in the first half, 4-of-14 after three quarters and other than Kevin Durant, the team wasn't much better. They trailed the below-average Mavericks by as much as 11...

Serge Ibaka added 19 points and matched his season high with 17 rebounds as Oklahoma City charged back from 10 points down in the final 7:17 of regulation and...

Brooklyn Nets fire head coach Avery Johnson

The Nets had much higher hopes for their inaugural season in Brooklyn. With a current record of 14-14 and locker room mumblings from Deron Williams saying that he was used to being coached a different way. Plus Gerald Wallace calling his teammates out about their attitude during the losing streak. The Nets have announced the [...]

Vote: Which Boston Athlete Would Look Best in a Santa Suit?

In the spirit of the holiday season, today’s NESN Daily poll goes a little off from the world of strictly sports. Being that it’s Christmas Eve and Santa Claus is preparing to make his yearly journey to deliver toys to boys and girls, we thought it’d be appropriate to ponder on which Boston-area athlete might make the best imitator. You’re not soon to see any of these four...

GM Neil Olshey Says Blazers Core “Are Not Going Anywhere”

Blazers GM Neil Olshey said he has made zero calls to other teams about Aldridge. He did say he has fielded one inquiry from another team, but it was more exploratory in nature, that team feeling the Blazers out. And he said he has no plans to make any future calls about Aldridge as February approaches. That doesn’t mean Olshey doesn’t expect to get more calls. He senses the...

Celtics 93, Nets 76: A nice stocking stuffer

For Christmas, at least, the Celtics played well. Jared Sullinger solidified himself as my hero, Rajon Rondo continued to show more aggression as a scorer, Gerald Wallace may or may not have wanted to brawl, Deron Williams (and Joe Johnson) used to be a lot better, and I don’t know if I said this before, but Sullinger’s my hero.I would write more, but I’m going to see Les Miserables...
