The Good news is that the refs didn't influence the outcome of the game and weren't a factor. I guess I over reacted when I heard that Bill Kennedy was calling such a big game. The Bad news is that apparently that it wasn't a big game after all. The Celtics never showed up. How bad was it? The Celtics scored 9 points in the first quarter. No, that isn't a typo. They scored NINE points in the first quarter. I have never seen them play that bad before. Even the team full of kids that lost 18 in a row never played that bad. They at least tried. And after their 9 point first quarter, it never got better. There was one very brief bright spot when the Celtics went on a 14-0 run but other than that, Ed LaCerte should have been checking for pulses because there were no signs of life in the team otherwise.
