USA Sports 360:
Doc Rivers offered to give Kevin Garnett the night off against the Chicago Bull and the big man who would load the Celtics on his back and carry this team through hell and back refused to rest. Garnett is not going to sit and rest when there is work to be done. Garnett knew there was work to do and this work horse got it done against the Chicago Bulls last night. Garnett played a great 4th quarter, he scored 8 of his 12 points in the 4th quarter to give his Celtics a 2 point margin of victory over the Bulls. Garnett had 11 rebounds in the game and it could be said that with out his great effort the Celtics who can be refereed to as the walking wounded would have lost the defensive struggle last night. Garnett just keeps bringing it. Year after year you hear whispers of Garnett retiring. Sooner or later he will leave the game. Until he does the Celtics will continue to have a warrior named Kevin Garnett.

Josh Smith has again been linked to Boston by a respected NBA reporter.
I keep hearing Josh Smith's primary destination is Boston.— Gery Woelfel (@GeryWoelfel) February 14, 2013
"Primary destination" can mean trade destination or as a free agent.
It's been well documented the immensely talented, immensely frustrating Smith is a good friend of Rajon Rondo....
Here’s my loose transcription of Doc Rivers appearance this morning on WEEI.
On the timing of the All-Star break:
We can go both ways with the break. We’re playing well now. But with the body count we have, I couldn’t have found a better time.
You just kinda coach em… and they kinda play.
You have to coach the guys that are playing. You have to get the guys that you expect...
Ainge's weekly appearance on "the Big Show" has given us a lot of valuable information about the Celtics difficult week ahead, but one gem that might get lost in all the "what's going to happen next?" talk is his view on Jeff Green's efficiency. Green's performance has confused us often especially early in the season when he'd play great one...
The season is at the halfway mark and the Celtics have clawed there way back into the playoff conversation as the seventh seed. Being in the Eastern Conference practically guaranteed them a spot in the post season; plus, they still have an opportunity to improve their position in spite of their up and down play.
They managed to fend of the Chicago Bulls last night who like Boston...
Paul Pierce is just awesome at life. Not only is the guy one of the greatest Celtics of all time, but now he is also helping out his fellow Celtic fans in the love department. "Pierce tweeted his gift suggestion, a “Celeb Call” from none other than himself."
Valentines Day is an awkward holiday. Guys feel a lot of pressure to go all out because those are the expectations...

The Boston Celtics have two guards with torn ACLs. They received updates on both. Fortunately, the news on Rajon Rondo's knee is positive. However, Leandro Barbosa who tore his ACL just a couple days ago, did not get quite as encouraging news.According to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe, Rondo's knee surgery went well.Danny Ainge tells Globe Rondo underwent ACL...
BOSTON — Already short on bodies, the Celtics were almost another man down on Wednesday.
Celtics coach Doc Rivers offered Kevin Garnett, the 36-year-old center who will be taking part in his 15th All-Star game this weekend, a chance to sit out the game against the Bulls to get some much-needed rest. As much as Garnett admitted he could use the respite, one look around the locker...
Did Kevin Garnett unintentionally announce his retirement tonight? When the 17-year veteran was asked about this weekend’s All-Star game following the Celtics’ 71-69 win over the Bulls, he responded by saying it would be his last. When asked why, the Celtic, who has two years and $23.5 million remaining on his contract after this season, said “Ya’ll don’t know what I know...
Although it hasn’t exactly slowed them down, the injury bug struck again in Boston, as Leandro Barbosa became the latest in a disconcertingly long line of Celtics who will miss the remainder of the 2012-13 campaign with an injury. Will it be enough to slow the momentum the franchise has built over the course of the past few weeks, gaining traction in the Eastern Conference and...

Wednesday night the Celtics were able to seal the deal against the Chicago Bulls to wrap up the first part of the season before the All-Star break. The Celtics beat the Bulls by a score of 71-69 to make it eight victories in their last nine contests.
It was not the prettiest win but the Celtics were able to hold on for the victory. It was clear...

Defense ruled the day, but it was Boston's offense that sealed the game down the stretch. In last night’s nail-biter against Chicago, points were predictably at a premium between two very talented, very defense-oriented teams. So when the Celtics were able to produce field goals on three consecutive possessions late in the fourth quarter, giving themselves a lead they would...
