Anderson Varejao owners have waited patiently for their stud muffin to return from a knee injury only to be hit with the worst news possible today. Knee surgery on the knee bone! Where else would knee surgery be? Anyway, Anderson is done for the next 6-8 weeks, pow, kicked right in the nuts! With his good leg, of course. Your immediate grab in all leagues is Tristan Thompson who has been a beast over his last 10 games with averages of 13.4 ppg and 12.4 rpg. He also has averaged about a block per during that span. You better hurry and go grab him, son! He’s only 45% owned in Yahoo! leagues at this very moment (11:41 am EST). I’m so precise. Oh, don’t forget Tyler Zeller too! Here’s what else I saw in fantasy basketball last night:
Reggie Evans – 2/23/2 in 27 minutes as nobody in the Sixers frontcourt could answer Reggie on the glass. Stream him if you’d like but I do expect Kris Humphries to regain some minutes once he’s fully healthy (as soon as next game!) so meh on Reggie.

The mystery has been solved. Anderson Varejao's injury, which was diagnosed as a bruised right knee initially, had kept the Cavaliers center out of action for 11 straight games. Now, we know why. Varejao had a split leg muscle that needed to be repaired. He underwent surgery yesterday.According to the Associated Press, Varejao underwent surgery at the Cleveland Clinic...
Cavaliers center Anderson Varejao had surgery to repair a split leg muscle, an injury that could sideline him two more months.
Varejao had the operation on Thursday at The Cleveland Clinic. The team said he is resting comfortably and will be kept overnight. Varejao, the NBA's leading rebounder, has been sidelined since getting hurt against Toronto on Dec. 18. His injury was...
The Cleveland Cavaliers must be kicking themselves a little bit for not trading Anderson Varejao when they had the chance. Varejao was the hottest commodity on the market only a few weeks ago when he was hitting 15 and 15 almost every night. Now a knee injury that the team originally thought would keep him out just a couple of days, looks to be much more severe. Varejao is going...
It’s hard not to feel some pain for Anderson Varejao after hearing the news that his knee contusion was in fact a torn muscle in his leg. Memories of Andy winning the game with a buzzer beating 3-pointer against Atlanta, and giving Ray Allen the business during a national televised game against the Celtics are two of my favorite moments I’ve enjoyed at the Q. I’ve really never...
Here's a major blow to fantasy owners. Cleveland Cavaliers center Anderson Varejao is scheduled to undergo knee surgery tomorrow (January 10) and will miss six to eight weeks, according to the Cavs' Twitter feed.
Varejao has been out of action since December 18. The big man was having a monster season, averaging 14.1 points, 14.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.5 steals and...
The Cleveland Cavaliers have been without Anderson Varejao for 10 games now, and he will not play tonight. This comes after being diagnosed with a bruised knee. That's right, a bruised knee. If we are considering the history of injury diagnoses in the NBA this season, we may want to disregard the initial diagnosis. Remember Steve Nash's shin contusion? According...
Cleveland Caveliers C Anderson Varejao will need surgery for a torn leg muscle and will be sidelined for the next 6-8 weeks. Tonight’s game at home against the Atlanta Hawks will mark the 11th straight game Varejao has missed. At first he was listed as day-to-day but the “bruise” wasn’t healing, causing team Doctors to [...]The post Dommermuth: Varejao Out w/ Torn Leg Muscle...
Peter Vecsey tweeted last night that the Cavaliers had discussions with the Los Angeles Clippers about Anderson Varejao-
Now, please note what the “report” says- the Cavaliers DISCUSSED a trade with the Clippers. DeAndre Jordan and Varejao were the principals. Even with Bledsoe in the mix, (which the report says nothing about the Clips willingness to include him), there is no...
“I’m still trying to be very optimistic that he’ll be able to play, I just don’t know when,” Scott said. “I hope I’m not talking like it’s long term or for the season, I’m still optimistic he’ll be able to play this year until the doctors tell me something different.”
Scott didn’t provide many more details about the injury, but agreed that after missing 10...
CLEVELAND -- Well, how about that?
On the same day the Cavs found out Anderson Varejao will be lost for another six to eight weeks with a knee injury (and surgery), they come out and play like a bunch of wild things.
They played with energy, they played with focus, they played with a purpose. If you didnt know any better, youd think they've been doing this a while.
Coming off perhaps their worst performance of the season in Chicago, and with the news of Andy Varejao’s surgery hitting yesterday it was time for the Cavaliers to do some damage control.
It started with ticket giveaways. I know three people on twitter that got an email or phone call and received free tickets to last night’s game. Myself included. In my section, ticket representatives...
Anderson Varejao was injured during the Cavaliers game against the Raptors on Dec. 8.
After missing 10 games, the Cleveland Cavaliers have decided that Anderson Varejao needs surgery to repair a "a small longitudinal split in the vastus medialis." In a post I wrote back in early December, the Cavaliers missed out on their chance to "dump" Varejao and his injury prone style of play while he was the hottest thing in basketball. Clearly the Cavaliers...
