Great time to be a Blazer fan! Watch the tears flow like excuses from the defeated sad faces of our latest victims!!!

Is the suffering over? It might be! It just feels different this time. Sure we have had some great teams in our wonderful Blazer history. Heck, we were great in the late 80's and early 90's and in 77.... forget about it, but the players we had in the late 90's and early 2000's lacked character and were worried mainly about the check that Paul Allen was giving them (I hate the label "Jail Blazers" but I guess it fit...). This team now is for real ... not like a Trader Bob facade. Blazer fans want more than a competitive team, we want good guys that are fun to cheer for. We are a different bread of fan. The teams of Clyde, Terry, Jerome, Buck, and Duck were "real." They were Portland guys. They did things in and for their community and they played hard every night. Seems like after a bit of frustration in not sealing the deal, Paul started thinking he could hire a bunch of veteran guns to win it for us. Thing is, there just wasn't any heart in those teams. They did little more than extend our massive streak of play off appearances. But guess what? Our team has heart now!! We have just won our eighth contest in a row. In a year many have labeled a throw-away season, due to the injured Oden (man I can't wait to see him in Blazer red and black!). Our team is the youngest team in NBA history, but that is not what defines them. Rather than their youth on display, lately, it has been their hearts. I do not have to tell you that they have beaten some of the toughest teams in the NBA (Dallas, Denver, Golden State, Utah, Detroit....), but I will tell you that the guys have been bringing it every night! They seem to have confidence for such a young team. They look poised, as if they don't believe for a minute that they will loose. I have been a Blazer fan since the later 1970's, and I just got to say that Rip City is definitely back. It is in the air. The crowds at the Rose Garden have been absolutely rowdy! Fans are loudly cheering all the way to their cars after the game. It has been awesome to see! We chased Utah fans out of our house the other night (not literally.... Just our loud gleeful cheering). I thought they were going to cry. I love the defeat visible in our opponents (and their fans) eyes! It's especially nice when the teams sulk and make excuses as they leave the floor-destroyed. Roy has been incredible lately. He seems to be our good luck charm... The Natural our Golden Boy. But the rest of the cast has been raising up when we need them too. It seems to be someone different every night! They are playing like a team. Joel has been a beast! To sum it all up. the Blazers are back world. Time to recognize! They say this is a streaky Blazer team going through a win streak; they maybe right but I bet even the best teams are staying awake at night knowing they will have their hands full when they are forced to face us. Knowing it might be them next, walking off the floor defeated and making excuses.
