Found January 04, 2013 on Celtics Life:
It feels good to do a Green Envy post, it has been a while. What feels better is the defensive will the Celtics showed tonight, and scoring 94 points against a defensive team was no less important. Well, of course you would expect Pacers fans to be angry. They were not the most sulky fans, their feet are on earth., and they mostly complained about their own players. There was a lot of whining about the refs (to be fair, some of that was legit), no one except for a couple thought it'd be easy despite Celtics' losing streak, oh and they definitely hate Sullinger, shockingly more than they hate KG. Enjoy! Top three comments: Hey at least the defense is dominating the game from both teams! No points allowed in the first half an hour!!!! Wish Frank said "Ball don't lie" after Pierce missed that FT. The Pacers finally got physical when the game ended with all the hugging of the team that just kicked their asses. The voice of reason: "Don't know how anyon...

Underrated Stat of the Night - Hawks 1/5

It was 8:11 PM: I had just finished writing my halftime update, when I went to do something else. I accepted that they had lost. It was time to move on. But, I turn on the game mid-way through the third and Sullinger makes a lay up. The lay up gave the Celtics a 61-60 lead. I was shocked to see this sudden turnaround and rushed to my computer to write the update once the quarter...

Celtics suffocate Hawks 89-81, behind Rondo's triple double and Pierce's big night

If the Boston Celtics do in fact go on to great things this season, tonight's game in Atlanta will featured prominently on the team's Championship DVD. They fell down early, fought their asses off to get back into the game, and suffocated the Hawks, holding them to an incredible 28 second half points. The Celtics pulled out the 89-81 victory, despite falling down by as many...

Comments from the Other Side - Hawks 1/5

This was a very satisfying win for the Celtics.  I love it when there are a lot of Celtics fans in opposing buildings.  Atlanta seems to be the best for that.   Lots of Josh Smith hate.  I'm not really sure why Celtics fans are ready to give up a ton to get this guy when the fans that watch him night in and out don't like him.   A fun game and some fun comments. ...

Rondo, Pierce help Celtics rally past Hawks

After listening to Doc Rivers lecture the Boston Celtics at halftime, Paul Pierce told his teammates to respect their coach and follow orders. ''We were kind of bickering at each other a little bit too much, figuring out what defense we were going to run,'' Pierce said. ''And I just had to say that the fight ain't with one another. It's against the...

Celtics break losing streak, beat Pacers 94-75

The Celtics got their first win of 2013 with a 94-75 win against the Pacers in Boston. This was the best defense the Celtics have played all season. If only they could string a few of these together. Boston started off slow, scoring only scored 15 points in the 1st quarter, but still managed to only be down 1 at the end of the quarter.  They stayed in the game with outstanding...

Taking Stock: Celtics – Pacers

After every game, we’ll take stock of how each individual performance affects the player’s overall value. Starters Offense:     Defense:      Overall:  Rondo off the ball is a menace.  If this was football, we say he’s a great free safety but a bad cornerback.  With Bradley in the game, Rondo can roam into passing lanes and sneak up on players on the post...

The Celtics we saw last night could win the NBA title, Version 2.0

Click here to read the original version from yesterday.  In the first half last night the Celtics played exactly as you might expect for a team on the road against a quality opponent on night two of a back to back, and they trailed the Hawks by 15 at the break.  But it the second half Boston exhibited the same defensive intensity we saw the day before against the Pacers. After...
