Beyond The Buzzer:
Dwight Howard reportedly made jokes at the expense of teammate, Kobe Bryant during All-Star weekend, but that wasn’t his only incident. It has now emerged that Howard may have even taken the All-Star game too casually and had “a few f-bombs” thrown his way from Gregg Popovich.
Stephen A. Smith on ESPN radio:
Then this past weekend, at All-Star weekend – I haven’t’ seen anyone report it, so I guess I’ll be the first.
Coach Gregg Popovich dropped a few f-bombs in Dwight Howard’s direction, during All-Star break. Now why is that guys? Despite Dwight Howard recently saying that Lakers GM, Mitch Kupchak told him he won’t be traded before Thursday’s trade deadline, his hometown Atlanta Hawks are expected to make a serious run at Howard before the deadline.
According to Ken Berger, CBS Sports:
There’s widespread belief among league execs that the Lakers will not trade Dwight Howard, who is an unrestricted free...
Dwight Howard has been coy about his upcoming free-agent status, often dodging questions about it, but he provided his latest insights Tuesday after the Lakers' shoot-around.
Does he see himself as the Lakers' cornerstone after Kobe Bryant's career ends?
"Yeah, I do. That's what we've always talked about since the first day I got here," he said.
Kobe wants Dwight Howard to stop clowning around, but Dwight doesn’t know how to act any other way. People may not like Kobe Bryant, but no one questions his desire to be great and his work ethic.
That is what gets him the respect from peers and fans alike, but I don’t think anyone respects Dwight Howard right now, on or off the court.
Here is just a latest example why from Larry...

Just when you thought the drama in Lakerland couldn't get any more juicy, Kobe Bryant has essentially thrown in the towel on the Dwight Howard era.
Yahoo!'s Adrian Wojnarowski had this little gem in a piece about Howard and Chris Paul's impending free agency:
When asked about the possibility of the Lakers moving Howard at the deadline, Kobe Bryant was devastatingly...
Gregg Popovich may be known for being a "perfectionist", especially when you see him coaching the San Antonio Spurs and he almost loses his sanity when a player doesn't rotate on defense in time. That's usually the "outside" view of Coach Pop but, for Spurs fans, it's a completely different personality they know. This laid back personality was visible...

Is it really hard to be a fan of more than one team in a sport?
It seems in past sports history, fans were more fickle and diehard for their team. In contemporary times, its a whole new ballgame for fans.
It’s not hard to be a fan of multiple teams in one sport. Everyone knows this.
Having more than one team to root for means more chances to be on the winning side.... Read more
Tweet Unless they’re Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard, NBA players sometimes develop bonds with their teammates. They spend a lot of time together practicing and on the road and form friendships with one another. Apparently that’s the case with the Houston Rockets, as Jeremy Lin said he didn’t feel like playing after the Rockets traded [...]
Despite all the mishaps this season and the “Dwight is unhappy in LA” reports, Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak says that not only does the team have no intention of trading him, but the upcoming free agent is their future.
According to ESPN LA:
“Dwight is our future,” Kupchak told “The Herd with Colin Cowherd” on ESPN Radio on Wednesday.
“It’s hard to get talent in this league...
You knew that the Lakers and their fans would be emotional tonight, and that L.A. would feed off of it, but the Celtics showed little resistance. Call it “tired legs”, second night of a back-to-back, blah blah. Boston just did not play defense tonight. Period. They fall 113-99 on L.A.
As Doc told his troops at halftime, “they’re getting whatever they want..” Couldn’t...
