Grizzlies Hire Iavaroni

Rejoice! Rejoice! Rejoice!Memphis Commercial Appeal Grizzlies beat writer Ron Tillery is first with the news that the Memphis Grizzlies have hired Phoenix Suns assistant Mark Iavaroni as the new head coach. I will have more on this later as I attempt to get to the press conference tomorrow but this to me signals that Mr. Heisley has some semblance of a plan. There is no way that Iavaroni would have signed on to the Grizzlies unless he had assurances that the Grizzlies were going in some kind of direction because he had his choice of jobs. This is the best news of the offseason and could have only been topped by getting the #1 overall pick. I hope his former co-worker David Griffin comes along with him and then we have something brewing on Beale Street.
