Found March 29, 2013 on Celtics Life:
I don't know how many times I've jinxed things this season: I've written a post praising Jeff Green's preseason performance and he struggled for the next 3 months, I've praised Leandro Barbosa and he struggled to get minutes for an extended period only to get injured later, I've talked about our chances to steal the 3rd seed from the Knickerbockers and we've failed miserably since then... If you're not convinced yet, let me give you five names from my fantasy league roster: Danny Granger, Lou Williams, Jared Sullinger, Chase Budinger, Marcus Camby. They've all had season-ending injuries. Luckily this jinxing thing works the other way too, because Brandon Bass woke up after I wrote a post criticizing his post-Rondo injury performance. Oh boy did he wake up. I'm here to pay him the respect he deserved. To briefly recap the previous post; I analyzed Bass' expectancy that his usage would go up and he would play better following Rondo's ...

Pat Riley to Danny Ainge: 'STFU'

Danny Ainge recently said that LeBron needs to stop doing so much complaining, and that apparently did not sit well with Pat Riley, to say the least.

Pat Riley tells Danny Ainge to ‘shut the f–k up’

Former coach/Heat president Pat Riley and Celtics president Danny Ainge go way back to the old Celtics-Lakers rivalry of the 80′s, and there’s apparently some bad blood still flowing… Ainge said earlier in the week that it was “almost embarrassing that LeBron (James) would complain about officiating,” Riley didn’t take to kindly to that remark, and released this statement...

Recap: Celtics steal a game they had no business winning

One year ago here in Cleveland, Jeff Green got a new heart. In the final two minutes tonight, he showed it to us. — Sean Grande (@SeanGrandePBP) March 28, 2013 I can’t properly explain how bad the Celtics looked for much of the second half.  They were horrible.  They turned the ball over in horrific ways.  They missed easy shots and gave up easier ones.  They let the Cavaliers...

Do we need more Shavlik?

For pretty much as long as I can remember, one of the Celtics biggest weaknesses has been rebounding.  Last night Shavlik Randolph pulled down 13 boards in 22 minutes.  An amazing 7 of them were of the offensive variety; for comparison in the win at Cleveland on Wednesday the C's as a team had a total of 2 offensive rebounds.  Here's what Chris Forsberg of ESPN Boston...

Jason Terry, Shavlik Randolph Become Latest Celtics to Break Out at Opportune Time

BOSTON — Courtney Lee, limited to six minutes of playing time in his first game back from a sprained ankle, hopped up exuberantly. Chris Wilcox, mostly confined to the bench after starting the game at center, waved his towel enthusiastically. Rajon Rondo, back on the bench for the first time in two months, clapped in his sportcoat. All along the bench, the Celtics were having a...

Ainge calls LeBron’s complaints about officiating “embarrassing”

You expect bloggers, fans and sports radio hosts to react to LeBron James’ whining about officiating. But an NBA general manager? Yesterday on WEEI, Danny Ainge joined the fray: “I think the referees got the calls right. I don’t think it was a hard foul,” Ainge said of the mixups involving James and Heinrich, as well as another one involving James and Taj Gibson. “I think...

Jeff Green Hugs His Heart Doctor After Hitting Game Winning Shot

Next Impulse Sports: Jeff Green hit a buzzer beater in Cleveland on Wednesday night to lift the Celtics to a 93-92 win, and following the winner he hugged a man who saved his life a little over a year ago. Dr. Lars Svensson was the recipient of a hug, and a well deserved one, as he performed open heart surgery on Jeff last year to mend an aortic aneurysm. A.B. As Boston.com reported...

Jeff Green, Celtics Show Heart in Cleveland, Where Green’s Heart Was Fixed Last Year

For the second time in three weeks, Jeff Green delivered a game-winning layup on an expertly diagrammed play. But he was not the hero for the Celtics on Wednesday. Rather, the hero was Jason Terry. It was Brandon Bass. Or maybe it was Jordan Crawford. All three of those players, who are not known for their defense, contributed to a strong defensive effort down the stretch that helped...

One year after open heart surgery, Celtics' Wilcox thankful to be where he is today

BOSTON - Appearing on Thursday night's Celtics Late Night Show on CLNS Radio, Boston Celtics forward Chris Wilcox proudly announced that Friday will be the one-year mark since his open heart surgery. Wilcox, who missed the later part of the 2011-2012 season due to a heart ailment, believes his health continues to improve every day. "My health is getting better everyday....

Recap: Celtics - Hawks

I think it's safe to say that tonight was the best offensive performance for the Celtics in terms of both points scored and efficiency. In 48 minutes the Cs poured in 118 points and shot blistering percentages of 54 and 48% from the floor and downtown respectively. Unfortunately you can't say the same for their defense. The effort on that end of the floor was poor to say...

RedsArmy presents FanFriday #43: “Picture Planet”

The guys behind Picture Planet Studios, Dan Bowers & Van Troung, have been Celtics fans and Red’s Army readers for quite some time. With their first feature film set to release next month, it was a perfect time to feature them on Fan Friday:   How long have you guys been Celtics fans, and who or what got you interested in them? Van: It started with Larry Bird. I was a chubby...

Pat Riley To Danny Ainge: STFU

In a recent interview on WEEI radio, Celtics GM, Danny Ainge, called LeBron James “almost embarrassing” for complaining about foul calls after Chicago snapped Miami’s 27-game winning streak. LeBron James responded at Friday’s shootaround in New Orleans, saying “Nothing that comes out of Boston surprises me,” but Miami wasn’t done firing back. Heat president Pat Riley...
