This had all the ear marks of a true streak ender for the Heat, on the road in Boston against their hated rivals the Celtics. Add to the fact that the celtics 5 years ago to the date ended another hot streak by the Houston Rockets at 22 in a row, this was a game that some had saw this a a streak buster. The fact that the Heat was down for a good part of the game late really gave the feeling that the streak was …over. Boston led by as many as 17 in the first half, but it was 103-all when Miami got the ball with 33 seconds left. James dribbled down the shot clock before putting up a jumper from the right wing to take the lead. Green drove into the lane for Boston, but he was stuffed by Battier; the ball went out of bounds and, after replay, was given to the Celtics with 7.1 seconds remaining. Courtney Lee found Pierce for an open 3-pointer, but it bounced long off the rim and Dwyane Wade, who scored 16, tipped the rebound to the corner and then grabbed it. Jeff Green scored a career high of 43 points for the Celtics, Lebron James scored 37 points 7 rebounds and 12 assists. With the win the Heat now have the second longest winning streak in NBA history, they are still well short of the Lakers record of 33 however the Heat are streaking toward adding to the second longest streak. ”It means a lot,” James said. ”I know the history of the game. To be sitting in second place right now … for us to be there and doing it the way we want to do it, it means a lot.” One thought about this streak. You have to begin to wonder if they match the record or break will this streak take a lot out of them, once the playoffs start. They are without a doubt the number one team in the East. While looking nothing short of unbeatable you do have to keep in mind that the priority at this point to to go into to the playoffs hot but not too hot and have your players especially yopur big 3 rested and focused. Could the streak take alot out of the Heat? So far it doesn’t seem so but …we will have a bigger idea come playoff time.
