Found March 18, 2013 on Celtics Life:
Ugh. The Celtics, without Kevin Garnett (and Rondo, and Sullinger, and Barbosa..) had the Heat right where they wanted them. They were up 17 in the first half, and 13 with 8:27 to go in the 4th. But they couldn't close the door. Lebron James was too good, scoring 37 points to go with 12 assists and 7 boards for Miami. The Celtics were led by Jeff Green's career high 43 points; as well as 17/8/8 from Paul Pierce. But it wasn't enough. Miami won their 23rd straight game; 105-103, and now have the 2nd longest winning streak in NBA history. Feel free to read ahead, but please - put away all sharp objects. Green started for KG and dominated the first 16 minutes of the game, much like the oversized "12" year old that dominates the Little League World Series every year. You know the one that's a foot taller than the rest of the kids, and has a mustache. That was Green. After the Heat went up 19-14, Green spearheaded a 27-5 run by the C's with a plethora of ac...

Your Morning Dump..Where Green Wins ‘Em Over

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. On an icy, cold morning here in Boston, not much will be of much solace to C’s fans. But if there’s one thing to be happy about after last night, it was Jeff Green’s breakout performance. Starting in place...

Who is the real Jeff Green?

"That's like taking away from a pitcher that...throws a no-hitter. Obviously he's not going to be able to throw a no-hitter every time, and then the next outing he goes out and gives up six runs and you say, 'Which guy is he? -Danny Ainge on Jeff Green's performance last night Last night's 43 point scoring night by Jeff Green was one of the most unexpected...

Should Jeff Green remain in the starting line-up?

Some guys are just better as starters. Jeff Green is one of them. Whereas players like Jason Terry and Jamal Crawford thrive off the bench, others need to start to bring the most out of them. McHale was able to handle a bench role. Cedric Maxwell wasn't. For that reason Max started and McHale came off the bench. And when McHale took over the starting spot permanently, Maxwell...

The Celtics lose the Jeff Green game

Jeff Green’s career night was not enough for the Boston Celtics I just want to give Jeff Green a hug and tell him “It’s not your fault” like Robin Williams with Matt Damon in “Good Will Hunting”. If that sounds familiar, it’s because I wrote a similar thing after the Rajon Rondo game last year. Tonight, it was Jeff Green, who in replacing Kevin Garnett in the starting...

Heat-Celtics draws big rating for ESPN

The hoopla surrounding the Miami Heat and their now 23 game winning streak isn't going to slow down anytime soon.  Miami had another dramatic, come from behind victory in the streak last night in Boston.  In spite of Jeff Green's 43 points, the Heat beat the Celtics 105-103.  Although it's easy to forget about the NBA in the midst of March Madness, the game drew a...

Reports: KG may not play vs. Heat

If the Boston Celtics are going to end the Miami Heat's 22-game winning streak Monday night, they may have to do it without Kevin Garnett. Garnett missed Saturday night's win over the Charlotte Bobcats with a left adductor strain and will be a game-time decision for tonight's showdown in Boston, according to multiple reports. After Garnett sat out Sunday's practice...

5 Things Celtics must do to win tonight - Heat 3/18

Tonight, the Celtics will the play the final game of their three game home stand when they host the red hot Miami Heat. As you probably know, the Heat are currently riding a 22 game win streak with the media at their backs. On the other hand, the Celtics have won their last two games over the Raptors and Bobcats, with the win over Charlotte coming without KG. According to 10,000...

Celtics' Garnett returns against Hornets

Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers says Kevin Garnett is in the lineup for Wednesday night's game against the New Orleans Hornets. The 6-foot-11 Garnett had been sidelined for two games by a left thigh injury and the flu. Boston split the two games, losing to streaking Miami on in the final seconds Monday night. Garnett is averaging 14.8 points and 7.8 rebounds this season. His...

Comments from the Other Side - Heat 3/18

I really, really dislike the Heat and their fans.  The majority of  Heat fans became fans when LeBron arrived.  They are fair weather fans  who trash their own players constantly when they miss a play or don't shoot well.  .  They also talk about how Celtics fans are complaining about the refs and then turn around and complain about the refs and the truth is that no team...

Kevin Garnett Is ’50/50 at Best’ As Heat Try to Extend 22-Game Win Streak Against Celtics at Garden

The Heat have won 22 games in a row, tying them for second all-time with the Rockets, who won 22 straight in 2008. The Celtics, meanwhile, have a streak of their own going, winning 11 in a row at TD Garden, where they will host the Heat on Monday night. But a certain 6-foot-11 player (not 7 feet, mind you) who could be the determining factor in the game may not be available for this...

Your Morning Dump… where someone’s streak ends tonight

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. But, in front of a leather-lunged crowd that spent much of that Sunday afternoon on its feet, the Celtics, without Rajon Rondo, fought to an emotional double-overtime win. Including that game, the Celtics have won...

The Celtics didn't win, but they sent a message to Miami tonight: 'see you in the playoffs'

"There's no such thing as a good loss." I'd say that I agree with the above statement 99% of the time. Especially in professional sports. But the Celtics 105-103 loss to the Heat to the Heat tonight falls in the other 1%. Sure the loss sucked something fierce. A 17 point 1st half lead and a 13 point cushion with 8:27 to go fell by the wayside. Boston turned the...

Celtics Video: Pierce, Green & Terry on Avenging the Bobcats & Bass on Guarding LeBron

Brandon Bass said he isn't worrying about whether he will be covering LeBron James Monday night and talked about stepping in for an injured KG. Paul Pierce had another efficient game and credited the team with stepping up defensively in the second half. Jason Terry was perfect from downtown (3/3 3FG) and said that they knew they gave the previous games away to the Bobcats and...

Celtics look to end another 22-game win streak

Five years ago to the day the Celtics were facing a Houston Rockets team that put together an unlikely 22-game win streak, good for second best in NBA history.  The night before, they had come back from being down 20-plus points against the Spurs in San Antonio.  In one of his first games as a Celtic, Sam Cassell hit a clutch jumper late in the game to seal the win. A tired Celtics...
