With the National Basketball Association pre-season coming closer and closer here is another look at a former UNC Basketball player that has made it at the next level. Danny Green, who is the San Antonio’s starting shooting guard, scoring over 10 points per game last season, while adding 3.1 rebounds and almost 2 assists per match ups, has been working hard since the day he was able to land a roster spot with the Spurs. This off season was no different for the 5th year pro. The former National Champ in 2009 under head coach Roy Williams had an excellent playoff run, and used the off season to work on improving himself in many areas. From his shooting from beyond the arc, where he excelled in the playoffs in the 2012-13 season, to the pull up mid range shot, to dribble drive, the 6’6″/210 lbs guard used the summer time to work on all of this… and more. From the sounds of it he is serious to keep the momentum built in the latter part of last season to propel him to this one. With the Spurs coming so close to winning it all last season, will an improved Danny Green be the difference between a title and not if they get another shot at it this season? Only time will tell, but it would not be much of a stretch to believe it, would it? With seventeen former UNC Basketball players donning NBA jerseys this year Green probably has the best chance to make it to the NBA Finals, and as such it will be very interesting to watch how he does throughout the whole season.
