I wrote about this in my game story today, but if you missed out, coach George Karl talked about Kenneth Faried after last night’s game. Now, there’s no question that the rookie forward is a fiery, energetic rookie who can end up on YouTube and SportsCenter in a matter of moments (such as last night). And, of course, the fans are yearning for more “Manimal” – Faried’s nickname since his playing days at Morehead State, where he hauled in the most rebounds in modern NCAA history (eclipsing Tim Duncan). Now don’t tell this to J.R. Smith, but there’s more to basketball than just highlight-reel plays. And Faried is still learning the NBA game. And, frankly, with the recent play of Kosta Koufos and Al Harrington, it would be hard for Faried to crack the rotation even if he was seasoned.
