You could say it was an and-six. Things haven't been looking up for Hofstra ever since Speedy Claxton graduated and they went from having an incredible mantra, the Flying Dutchmen, to a boring, lame one — the Pride.But here's a little interesting tidbit the team provided us with. In its game last night against UNC-Wilmington, Hofstra pulled off a rare feat: eight points scored on one possession. It took the Seahawks to score eight points in the first eight minutes. Hofstra guard Charles Jenkins scored as many on one first-half
possession, that included an intentional foul on UNCW forward Jeremy
Basnight and a technical foul on UNCW coach Benny Moss. That flurry of
points made it 34-9 Pride with 9:15 in the half. I'd say that's a knockout blow. Final score? Hofstra 93, UNC-Wilmington 54.
