NEW ORLEANS - Forward Ryan Anderson scored 22 points and center Robin Lopez tied his season high with 21points in just 23 minutes of playing time to power the New Orleans Hornets to a 102-81 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks Monday night at the New Orleans Arena. The Hornets (5-11), who had lost nine of their previous 10 games, handed the Bucks their 11th consecutive loss in New Orleans. Lopez was the catalyst in a 13-0 Hornets run in the third quarter, scoring eight consecutive points in that spurt as New Orleans took a 71-60 lead with 4:11 left in the period. Lopez took a feed from Greivis Vasquez for his first basket, hit a 17-footer from the right wing, then scrambled on the floor to grab a loose ball and dunk it home. When the Bucks answered with five straight, Anderson drove around Ersan Ilyasova for a layup, then hit an 18-footer to put New Orleans up 75-64. Leading 81-72, New Orleans scored eight straight - four by Jason Smith - to open an 89-72 lead with 5:58 left. ...

Commissioner David Stern Wishes Eric Gordon Were Healthier

David Stern gets flak from a lot of different angles.  Most of it is deserved.  However, he also knows how to run the NBA.  He has built the NBA into a brand and made it so much more successful than it was when he took over.  He's always a fun listen or read when he has a conversation with someone as well.  He did just that with John Reid of the New Orleans Times Picayune...

Report: New Orleans to change their name to the Pelicans

When the Jazz left New Orleans, they took the perfect name for the city with them.  Twenty-four years later the Hornets arrived from Charlotte. New Orleans changing name to Pelicans?

When Tom Benson bought the New Orleans Hornets, one of the things he said was that he'd heard fans complain about the team name and wouldn't be opposed to a change. Looks like they are getting their wish. The team is reportedly changing its name to the Pelicans, in honor of the Louisiana state bird, according to Yahoo Sports. The brown pelican is also featured on the state...

New Orleans Hornets to change name to New Orleans Pelicans?

The New Orleans Pelicans? Is this high school or an NBA pro franchise? The New Orleans Hornets are changing their name. In defense of the New Orleans Pelicans

On Tuesday, Yahoo! Sports reported that the New Orleans Hornets will change their name to the Pelicans for the 2013-14 NBA season. The team has not confirmed the report, meaning that this is likely a trial balloon to see how well the name catches on in the public. Based on early internet reaction, that balloon would seem to be deflating. Everywhere you look, someone seems to be poking...

Bucks Comically Bad in Loss to Hornets

The amazingly inconsistent Milwaukee Bucks found a way to get dominated by the New Orleans Hornets on Monday night, by a final score of 102-81. The Hornets are 5-11 on the year, and without Anthony Davis and Eric Gordon. And the Bucks lost to them by 21. The Bucks fall to 8-8. They have the Spurs up next. Given the Bucks season so far, they will probably find a way to win, and...
