Alexander was taken eighth overall by Milwaukee in the 2008 draft, when he was billed as the athletic cream of that particular crop. That being the case, the former West Virginia star still struggled mightily in two seasons before he was traded to Chicago in February in the deal that netted the Bucks John Salmons. Before the Bucks dealt him, they had declined the third-year team option on his deal for 2010-11 and sent him to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the NBA's Development League late in the season after he suffered a hamstring injury. The Hornets also added former D-League All-Star and NBA vagabond forward Pops Mensah-Bonsu to their camp roster earlier in the day. E-mail Sam at amick.sam@gmail.com or follow ...
