Dwyane Wade's greatest highlight. If the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder gave us The Avengers on Sunday, then the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics gave us, at best, Italian Spider-Man yesterday. Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals was as much of a dick-measuring contest as it was a basketball game, with the Celtics trying desperately to prove their “Big 3” could hang with Miami’s “Big 2 and That Other Guy Who Will Play Again Eventually” and the Heat proving they didn’t need that other guy to win. The Heat rolled to an easy 93-79 victory, holding the Celtics to less than 20 points in the first, third and fourth quarters, but it’s also worth mentioning that the Celtics blew the Heat away in one specific category – technical fouls. Five to the Heat’s zero, to be specific. Hell, even Miami fans had to chuckle at the absurdity of this T on Doc Rivers. But aside from sparking a “David Stern wants the Heat to win” conversation – and by all means, have at it – I actually enj

Dwyane Wade wears green tie and matching finger wrap (Picture)

Dwyane Wade is developing a bit of a Digger Phelphs-like habit. The Heat guard has been showing up to postgame press conferences throughout the postseason wearing ties and a matching finger wrap. We first noticed it when he did it last week when wearing the pink pants. After Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals on Monday, Wade wore green. If this is the work of his fashion stylist...

Dwyane Wade Jumpman shirts given away to Heat fans before Game 2 (Picture)

Like many other teams, the Miami Heat have gotten into the trend of handing out shirts to their fans for playoff games. The objective is to get the arena color-coordinated, or in some cases, get a spell-out going. Well much to the chagrin of LBS writer Danny Lee who lamented the takeover of marketing and advertising in sports, the Heat partnered with the Jordan brand to give away...

D-Wade...Better than a 1970s ‘Super Ball’

Miami Heat superstar Dwyane Wade.Maybe it’s me Eye On Sports NBA lovers, but every time I think about the way Miami Heat superstar shooting guard Dwyane Wade has bounced back after that horrific five-point performance against the Indiana Pacers in Game 3 of their Eastern Conference semifinal showdown, I keep thinking about those extra-fun, high-bouncing ‘super balls’ that were...

Wade: Heat-Celtics was 'inevitable' matchup

In 2010, Boston ousted Dwyane Wade in the first round and LeBron James in the second round. A year later, Wade and James were teammates and turned the tables, sending the Celtics into the offseason. Here comes the tiebreaker. Celtics-Heat, one more time - with a berth in the NBA finals as the reward. For the fifth time in seven years, it'll be Boston or Miami winning the Eastern...

Trust issues are Wade, James' weakness

Consistency separates the Spurs from the Heat. On a nightly basis, you know exactly what to expect and what you're going to get from Gregg Popovich's squad. The Spurs trust their system of unselfish ball and man movement. It's as if they're on autopilot and the only possible variable is individual effort within the system. Popovich's in-your-face coaching style...

Wade Looking Forward To 'Inevitable' Matchup With Celtics

Dwyane Wade said Miami was predestined to face the Celtics in the Eastern Conference championship.

Heat stars aided by 'Other Guys' in Game 1

MIAMI The way the two have been playing lately, the national perception is LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and three guys from a beer league could win in the NBA playoffs. Their Miami Heat teammates might not necessarily agree. But they're still spending plenty of time these days giving the two stars the business. "We joke," Heat forward Shane Battier said. "We told...

Rondo: Heat Have To Hit The Deck Too

LeBron James and Dwyane Wade attacked the basket at will in the second half of Miami's 93-79 Game 1 victory over the Celtics.

Miami Heat vs Boston Celtics Preview and Prediction

The Miami Heat return to the Eastern Conference Finals for the second year in a row after beating the Indiana Pacers in six games. They did this without Chris Bosh in the lineup, and he could possibly miss the entire series against Boston. His injury opens the door for Boston’s big men to dominate the Heat in the post, which Indiana failed to take advantage of in their series with...

Recap: Sometimes grit and balls isn't enough

An epic performance by Rajon Rondo and a tremendous "grit and balls" effort by the Celtics tonight was marred by wretched officiating.  I didn't want to ***** about the officials. The game was too good. But I can't stomach the bias. Just look at the photo. With the game tied at 105 in overtime, Rondo got raked across the face by Wade. No call. Thirty seconds...

Heat hold off exhausted Celtics in OT to take 2-0 series edge

MIAMI -- On a night LeBron James opened 1-for-6 from the field and Dwyane Wade scored just two first-half points, the Miami Heat found a way. Barely. Even if it took a bit longer than planned. Boston point guard Rajon Rondo was back to his dominant self, yet it still wasn't enough for the Celtics, as they fell to a 2-0 deficit in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference championship...
