If there is one aspect of the NBA that fans point to as possibly being rigged, it would be the NBA Draft Lottery. Some of the results just fit perfectly, such as hometown heroes Lebron James and Derrick Rose being able to go to the hometown team, even when the odds are small. While these storylines are great, logically, storylines like this will play out eventually. According to my recollection, the Cavs sucked the year they got Lebron, so they had a good chance of getting the #1 pick, and for the Bulls, eventually some team with a lower probability was bound to win the lottery.
It’s almost unthinkable that the NBA Draft Lottery might be rigged. The NBA brings an outside legal witness to it, each team has a representative in the drawing room, and media are allowed in the room as well. No way that the NBA could keep a fraud going on this long with so many people involved in the process.
