Before making your Final Four predictions for next weekend, check out an intriguing matchup in the NBA on Saturday night, as the up-and-down New Orleans Hornets travel to Utah to wrap up their five-game road trip through the western states with the Jazz, who could be tired from a track meet on Friday night.
Hornets vs Jazz odds – Saturday, March 20, 9:00 PM ET
The Hornets still have to face the mile-high madness in Denver on Thursday night, and they’ll be aiming to bounce back from a 131-121 loss at Golden State on Wednesday night. David West had a monster night with 36 points and 15 boards, while Darren Collison was next with 20 points and 14 assists as the Hornets shot 51.2% from the floor, but they also committed 18 turnovers and like so many other teams this year, they couldn’t stop the Warriors from scoring. Golden State shot 54% against the Hornets, and nailed 13 three-pointers.
The Jazz dropped Minnesota 122-100 at home on Wednesday, and they got huge contributions off the bench from the likes of Paul Millsap (21 points, 11 rebounds) and Kyle Korver (20 points). Carlos Boozer also had a double-double with 19 points and 11 boards for the Jazz, who are taking their annual place among the sportsbook darkhorses to win the NBA title. They’re a tough team, they can score inside and out, and in Deron Williams, they have one of the top five point guards in the NBA. The Utah defense hasn’t been as good as it has been in recent years, but they can lock it down when they need to.
Sportsbook odds (betphoenix reviews) should have the Jazz as a favorite at home in this contest as they’ve won eight of their last 10 against the Hornets, including a split so far this year with the road team winning each time. The Hornets actually have an advantage in this game as they will have Friday off after playing in the high altitude in Denver, while the Jazz will be in Phoenix on Friday night playing the run-and-gun Suns, and that has to take a lot of you. Then they have to travel back to Utah that night, while the Hornets will probably already be in the state. The Hornets have been inconsistent all season long, and even moreso with Chris Paul out of the lineup, and they seem to have problems with the teams they should be, but they can step up against the better teams in the league. That’s why we’re calling for an upset on Saturday night because we’re not sure how much Utah will have in the tank after facing Phoenix. Take New Orleans before looking at your odds on college basketball.
