PLAYERS: Chris Wilcox
TEAMS: Boston Celtics
Chris Wilcox’s return to the court could be coming soon after he missed all of the Boston Celtics’ preseason games with back spasms. (Boston Herald)Chris Wilcox didn’t play again, but he is getting closer to a return after sitting out nearly all the preseason with lingering back spasms.“I’m going to practice this week and see what’s going on,” Wilcox said.Since Wilcox has been injured, nobody has really discussed how important he could be to this team. Before undergoing season-ending heart surgery last season, Wilcox was damn good. Obviously he has conditioning issues (which are natural after missing so much time), but if he returns to form he could really help Boston’s frontcourt.

76ers 88 – Celtics 79 The Boston Celtics drop their last preseason game against the Philadelphia 76ers in Boston. This preseason, Jeff Green has gone above and beyond the call of duty and proved just why he deserves his contract after sitting out the entirety of last season. Green’s trend did not stop tonight in [...]

Celtics Set to Welcome Leandro Barbosa

The Celtics have reached a deal with Leandro Barbosa for the league minimum. What kind of impact will the veteran guard have on his new team? Probably not a large one. Not to take anything away from Barbosa, but the Celtics are loaded at the guard positions heading into the season. Plus, Barbosa is a huge liability on defense and really the only thing he would be able to contribute...

Comments from the other side - Knicks 10/20

It's interesting how each fan base is different as far as which Celtics they dislike the most.  Chicago, it's Rondo.  The Nets, it's Courtney Lee.  Knicks fans seem to hate Jason Terry.  But they all hate the Celtics, so there's that.  I think my favorite comment this time was the guy whose phone auto-corrected Amare to Amateur, and they agreed that it was...

Jeff Green and Jason Terry Lead the Boston Celtics to a 109 – 98 Preseason Win Over the New York Knicks

Jeff Green and Jason Terry Lead the Celtics’ rally from a 20-point deficit to a 109 – 98 Preseason Win Over the New York Knicks. If Jeff Green can keep up his efficient scoring pace, he might not have to ask James Worthy for permission to use his nickname. Too soon? Probably, but as the [...]

Your Morning Dump… Stats that mean absolutely nothing have me excited

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. Of the 11 play types tracked by Synergy Sports, transition accounted for a team-high 16.8 percent of Boston’s preseason plays. Boston averaged 1.216 points per play (169 points on 139 plays), which ranked second...

Celtics Live Blog: Leandro Barbosa's Boston Debut Delayed By Visa Problems as C's Host Sixers

6:58 p.m.: Leandro Barbosa's anticipated debut in a Celtics uniform has been delayed by the pesky state department. Apparently there are some visa issues for the Brazilian national to clear before he can don the green and white in an actual game. Barbosa warmed up prior to the game and spoke to reporters while wearing practice gear, but he joined Darko Milicic and Chris Wilcox...

GM Survey Gives Celtics Some Credit

The results of the annual GM survey were published today, and two teams, who are coincidentially our biggest rivals, were in the spotlight. This could either be good news or bad news depending on your perspective. Personally, I like it more when the rivals get such attention because it adds to the pleasure of beating them. Before diving into the results, I'd like to remind you...

Comments from the other side - Sixers 10/21

Sixers fans seem to have a lot of hate for Tommy Heinsohn.  I wonder if they realize that Tommy has 10 championship rings and therefore is entitled to say whatever he wants about basketball.  There was also some KG hate in this game.  My favorite comment was the one stating that Celtics games should be R Rated because of what the on-court microphones pick up.  He may have...

Jeff Green's Contract Drawing Unwarranted Criticism as Forward Is Brightest Star for Celtics So Far

BOSTON -- There sat Jeff Green, feet plunged in ice, plotting the demise of the Boston Celtics from his cubby in the corner of the locker room. He was so nefarious, cracking jokes with teammates as though it were the most innocent thing in the world, all the while hiding his role in the downfall of the winningest organization in the NBA. If Green comes across as just some 26...

LeBron James, Heat Not Celtics' Only Concern In Final Week of Preseason

And on the fourth week, the Celtics rested. After opening training camp three days earlier than any other team, the Celtics find themselves with an unusually long duration between games this week. They have an eight-day layoff between their final preseason game and their regular-season opener against the Miami Heat next Tuesday, and as the last days of preseason wound down, the...
