LAS VEGAS -- The signing of Manu Ginobili for two more years, which not so coincidentally coincides with the years left on the contracts for Tim Duncan and Tony Parker, was supposed to signal the end of their road.
The Three Amigos finally had an expiration date. Their truly amazing and unique run, stretching back to early this century, is coming to a close sometime in 2015.
"People have been trying to put a finish line on the Big Three era for a long time," Spurs general manager R.C. Buford said. "After watching Tim play this year, I don't think any of us are trying to predict when these guys will stop be effective players. We're not looking for a finish line."
Maybe not, but it sure looks like one. Duncan will be 40 and Ginobili will be closing in on 38 after the 2014-15 season. Parker, the young pup of the trio, should be going strong still, but what about his two older friends? Manu has given more than enough hints that he's this close...

Before suffering a knee injury recently, San Antonio Spurs 2013 NBA Draft pick, Livio Jean-Charles, showed he is quite the all-around athlete.
Not only can he light it up on the court, Jean-Charles apparently is quite the bowler and in this video, he is not shy about gloating he was able to make a strike.
Check out this video of Livio knocking down the pins. I just hope this...
Although Doc Rivers forever cemented his place in Celtics history coaching the team to its 2008 championship, it's easy to forget he suffered his share of devastating losses, too. In 2010, there was that Game 7 Finals loss to the Lakers. In 2012, there was the Eastern Conference finals 3-2 series lead that the Heat evaporated away.
So, it's fair to say that Rivers has experience...

It's been three weeks since Draft night when a report broke during the draft stating San Antonio Spurs assistant coach Brett Brown was about to be hired by the Philadelphia 76ers as their new head coach.
Later that Thursday evening, Spurs General Manager R.C. Buford dispelled the rumor and said no such deal had been done. Since those three weeks, there have been multiple...
Scoring the basketball is definitely not an issue for San Antonio Spurs 2013 NBA Draft pick Deshaun Thomas.
Let’s just take a look at his last Summer League game against the Hawks to get a small sample of the different kind of ways he can put the ball in the basket.
Pick and Pop
There were three instances that Thomas looked very comfortable shooting...
When the San Antonio Spurs drafted David Robinson with the No. 1 pick in the 1987 NBA Draft, they weren't exactly a "model" franchise.
San Antonio won just 28 games during the 1986-87 season -- only the New Jersey Nets, New York Knicks and Los Angeles Clippers won fewer contests -- but they also didn't adhere to any particular code of ethics. Robinson...
The Philadelphia 76ers have narrowed their search down to Brett Brown and Michael Curry, according to Marc Stein.

Brown has been with the San Antonio Spurs since 2002.
Curry spent the past three seasons as associate head coach of the 76ers.
The Summer of 2013 has been the Summer of knee injuries for several of the San Antonio Spurs’ young talent developing overseas. A rash of knee injuries has affected Davis Bertans, Adam Hanga and now Livio Jean-Charles.

My knee is feeling so...

Clippers coach Doc Rivers (OK, that was weird to type) told the Boston Globe that Spurs coach Gregg Popovich called him after the Spurs' Game 7 loss in the NBA Finals to the Miami Heat and asked for advice on dealing with that kind of a loss.
So, that's pretty awesome for multiple reasons. You've got Popovich, who is supposed to be this all-knowing seer, seeking out...
