Allen Iverson has caught the eye from a professional team - although perhaps not one for which he ever envisioned playing. Why, you ask? Well, the former NBA MVP will be trading in his basketball for a soccer one. Iverson was offered a contract with the Rochester Lancers of the Major Indoor Soccer League. He would be in line to make $20,000 per game to play in the team's remaining two home contests this season. The 11-time All-Star would also receive a $5,000 bonus for every goal he scores. "Allen Iverson is one of the premier athletes of our time," Rochester vice president Rich Randall said in a press release. "With his athleticism and competitive hunger, I think he can be a great fit with our team and fans as we make an important playoff push, while also driving interest to an exciting, growing sport." Iverson, who is facing serious financial difficulties, is said to be mulling his options in regard to playing basketball in Puerto Rico or Venezuela. ...
