Jameer Nelson, who’s a game-time decision (tendinitis) vs. the Lakers, was asked at this morning’s shootaround what it will be like to see former teammate Dwight Howard play for the Los Angeles Lakers tonight. Playing alongside each other for eight seasons, Howard and Nelson were once close, and while the Magic point guard had nothing negative to say about Howard, he implied just how tattered their relationship has become.
According to the Orlando Sentinel:
First, Nelson was asked whether it’ll feel weird or surreal to see Howard playing against the Magic.
“I don’t know,” Nelson said. “I’ve seen a lot of players come and go, and I just wish him the best in everything he’s doing and for him and his family to be successful, just like any other player that I’ve been on a team with. We’ve been through a lot together, so I certainly wish him the best. Hopefully, he’ll be successful in whatever he does.”
