It was a surprising move when the Oklahoma City Thunder decided to ship off James Harden to the Houston Rockets, days before the NBA season even started.
Harden was able to ink a five-year, $80 million deal once he made it to Houston, turning down a deal from the Thunder earlier that went for $54 million over four years.
Harden says he wanted to stay with OKC, but they didn’t give him enough time to think over a deal. In fact, they only gave him an hour about it.
“After everything we established – everything we had done – you give me an hour?” Harden told Yahoo! Sports. “This was one of the biggest decisions of my life. I wanted to go home and pray about it. It hurt me. It hurt.”
Harden didn’t like how general manager Sam Presti handled the situation, but thanks the Thunder for his time with the organization. He also says that the trade benefits him, giving him a chance to show how good he can really be if he is starting.
“I was there with talented guys in Oklahoma City, some All-Star guys, and I would’ve been in the back seat there – which I was fine with – but I wouldn’t have gotten the chance to show how talented I really am,” Harden said. “It’s a different opportunity for me here.”
Harden so far has been having an awesome season in three games with Houston, going on a tear with 35.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 6.3 assists averaged per game.

Jim RacaltoI am at a serious loss for words for a couple reasons. First, I know James Harden is red hot right now for his new team the Houston Rockets, but a haircut this early? They aren’t in the Finals yet, chief. Secondly, whoever did this cut must have been on glue. Check out this ridiculous and hilariously bad hair piece; a tribute to James “The Beard” Harden: Thanks...

James Harden was just traded to Houston Rockets no more than a week ago…and subsequently signed an $80 Million Dollar extension to remain with the Houston Rockets for the long haul — Now Harden isn’t only crushing it on the court, he’s also performing very strong off of it. Check out the tweet above, looks like the Beard is lining Houston’s...
At least he won’t have to worry about being jumped from behind.
James Harden has already made a huge impression with the Houston Rockets, so much so that someone went and had him immortalized by shaving his likeness in the back of their hair. The owner of the questionably awesome (or is it awesomely questionable) hairstyle is a member of the Red Rowdies, a group of diehard Rockets...
This haircut of a member of the Red Rowdies (a group of Houston Rockets hardcore fans) is extremely frightening and wonderful. Check out the super fan’s haircut which is one of the best tributes to James Harden that you will most likely ever see. I am a bit confused as to the interesting changes that the barber made to Harden’s mug, but when all is said and done the beard will...
HOUSTON So there is this guy, James Harden, and he has a long beard and a well-constructed Mohawk, but he does not speak like a guy with a long beard and a Mohawk, which is to say he is not trying to play some kind of character.
He doesn't speak much, really. Well, not much more than he has to, although now that he's the star of the Houston Rockets, he has to speak a lot...

After winning the sixth man of the year award with Oklahoma City, helping lead the Thunder to the Finals and cementing himself as one of the biggest fan favorites in the NBA, it’s a little shocking that James Harden wasn’t given longer to consider his contract offer with the Thunder.
Harden only had an hour to decide, turning one of the biggest decisions of his life into a...
The Rockets had been pushing to complete the trade for James Harden by Friday, but the Thunder wanted to present a final offer to Harden with a 60-minute window.
Before the NBA regular season got underway, the Oklahoma City Thunder shocked the league by trading James Harden to the Houston Rockets for Kevin Martin, Jeremy Lamb, and a plethora of future draft picks. Harden turned down a four-year extension earlier in the day in which he was traded. In this post, which marks the [...]

The Milwaukee Bucks’ Brandon Jennings and the Houston Rockets’ James Harden were named Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively.

James Harden and Andre Iguodala became good friends this summer on the U.S. Olympic team.
They are on new teams this season and Iguodala will likely be tasked with trying to slow down the league's leading scorer Wednesday night when his Denver Nuggets visit Harden's Houston Rockets.

Fear The Beard? Not PDX
The Portland Trail Blazers have impressed early in the 2012-13 season, and that trend was no different on the road against the Houston Rockets.
Both teams are now 2-1 on the season, but only the Blazers escaped Saturday night with a hard-fought victory.
The final score was 95-85 in Portland’s favor, and there were a handful of key elements to the victory...
