Washington Post:
Jan Vesely, the Wizards’ top pick in the 2011 draft, practiced fully Wednesday for the first time since Saturday but couldn’t finish because of a nagging right hip injury that relegated him to the exercise bike.
Vesely said he wasn’t sure when he tweaked his hip but thinks it may have happened during last Thursday’s practice. The 6-foot-11 Czech native played 22 minutes in Friday’s preseason opener and contributed, notching seven points, three rebounds and two steals. But the injury limited him near the end of the contest. He was held out of Tuesday’s 101-94 preseason finale loss to the Philadelphia 76ers.

Nick Young and Andray Blatche are the Wizards
Nick Young electing to come back to the Wizards this season got me thinking about how long he’s been in D.C. Long enough to have lasted through three distinct eras: the Playful Playoffs Era, the Finga Gunz Era, and the John Wall Era. NBA Eras are short, what do you want me to say?
Anyhow, going through some career-regular-season-games-played stats, I started to realize that Andray...
76ers’ Evan Turner doesn’t want to be compared to John Wall
As John Wall approached, Philadelphia 76ers second-year guard Evan Turner got down in his defensive stance, and slowly backpedaled. Turner bit as Wall dribbled left, then stumbled as Wall crossed over and drove right. Wall blew past him, then elevated for vicious one-handed jam over Craig Brackens.
Turner went back to the next play, as Wall hooted and cursed, and had to deal with...
JaVale McGee Dunks on Sixers, Stares Down Helpless Rookie
It may only be preseason, but JaVale McGee and his game and antics are in mid-season form. The Sixers handled the Wizards in Philly last night, but JaVale was a real bright spot for the Wiz. McGee looked great last night, going for 20 points, nine boards, three steals, two blocks and one vicious dunk [...]
Preseason open thread: Wizards at 76ers
The Washington Wizards play their second and final preseason game tonight at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. On Friday they were crushed by the 76ers, 103-78. After the game, the coach expressed his frustration.
“I was disappointed with our main guys. They got their [butts] kicked,” said Coach Flip Saunders, who repeatedly buried his head in his hand as his team was walloped...

Hoops Video: JaVale McGee Hammer Dunk over 76ers Rookie
I thought JaVale McGee won last years slam dunk competition, but the powers that be didn't see it that way. One thing I'm sure of is that McGee hasn't forgotten.
Check out the Washington Wizards big man throw it down hard and fast on Philadelphia 76ers rookie Nikola Vucevic. I warn you it's ugly!
You can't escape being a victim even in the preseason...
Wizards’ Maurice Evans back to work after helping negotiate labor deal
Maurice Evans always had the challenge of finding ways to stay in shape as he traveled back and forth between his home in Katy, Texas, to New York to help with labor bargaining sessions during the lockout. Evans, a union vice president, sometimes found himself working out at odd hours, after long meetings, but rarely could he find a good run.

Nick Young and Maurice Evans rejoin the Wizards
At one point during Friday night's blowout loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, Verizon Center fans began chanting for the team to bring back Nick Young. "Oh, for real?" Young said upon hearing that news, clearly pleased that so many Wizards fans missed him. Young was the team's leading scorer last ...
76ers 101, Wizards 94
Jrue Holiday scored 24 points, including 15 in the last 5:35 of the fourth quarter, to propel the Philadelphia 76ers to a 101-94 preseason victory over the Washington Wizards on Tuesday night.
JaVale McGee led Washington with 20 points, 12 in the fourth quarter. John Wall scored 17.
The Wizards took an 88-87 lead with 2:45 to play on a pair of free throws by McGee. Holiday then...

Wizards better in second outing, still come away with loss to 76ers
PHILADELPHIA — As promised, Washington Wizards coach Flip Saunders mixed up his lineup, playing every combination imaginable. In the end, the results were the same — another loss — as the Wizards fell to the 76ers, 101-94. But the Wizards showed some improvement over Friday night's contest, and all the ...

PHILADELPHIA — With a two-game preseason schedule behind them, the Washington Wizards must now get ready to face the New Jersey Nets on Dec. 26 in their season opener.
