At 39 years old, Jason Kidd is looking for one last run in the NBA. And, according to a report, that run will be extended by whichever team signs this off-season's most coveted free agent, Deron Williams. "My days of playing 38 minutes are over," Kidd told the New York Daily News. "We (Williams and I) could play off each other and hopefully be successful." The future Hall of Famer has expressed interest in being a backup for the first time in his career. Kidd and Williams share the same agent, Jeff Schwartz. The Dallas Mavericks have long been rumored to have a major interest in signing Williams, which would open the door for them to retain Kidd, who led them to their first NBA title last season. In order for the Mavericks to be able to sign both Williams and Kidd, Kidd would have to take less money than he made with Dallas last season. But, for a chance to play with a player the caliber of Williams, it sounds like an idea Kidd would at least be open to. "That would be a lot of fun to help a player like that," Kidd said. "Just share the things that helped me be successful in this league." Last season, Kidd averaged 6.2 points and 5.5 assists in 48 games for Dallas.
