Al Jefferson scored 21 points, Gordon Haywood added 15 in his first game as a reserve this season, and the Utah Jazz kept the Washington Wizards winless with an 83-76 victory on Saturday night.
The Jazz committed 19 turnovers but pulled away in the fourth quarter while closing a four-game road trip with a sloppy performance - and got away with it because they were playing the Wizards. Washington became only the second team in NBA history to start 0-8 in back-to-back seasons.
Jordan Crawford scored 20 points for the Wizards.

Wizards fans cheered for free chicken sandwiches even though they’re team lost to start the season 0-8 for the second consecutive year

Starting 5: Still winless
Every morning, we will give you five things from the night before in the NBA to start your day.
1: Wizards without wins
Two weeks into the season and nearly 10 games in, the Washington Wizards are still without a win. The Wizards had a two-point lead at the half against the Jazz.
That is when Al Jefferson began to take over and turn the tide of the game. Jefferson scored 17...

Jazz send lowly Wizards to another 0-8 start
WASHINGTON -- Minutes after the Wizards' latest loss, Randy Wittman moved into position before waiting reporters and a bank of cameras. The Wizards coach paused before starting his postgame comments, staring at the final box score, literally scratching his head in apparent disbelief. Matching the ignominious record for worst start in franchise history will have that effect. ...

The pre-Jerry Sloan Jazz were no pretty sight. Coach Tom Nissalke’s team was bad right from the stretch: Utah dropped its first four games, losing the first by 16, the second by 31, and the third by another 15 points. The team would finish 2-18 in the month of October, with the only victories coming at the expense...
Holiday helps 76ers get past Jazz
PHILADELPHIA - The best way to give his team a shot in the arm, Jrue Holiday figured, was simply to make a shot. Holiday nailed his first four shots Friday night, and scored 18 of his 26 points in the first half, propelling the Sixers to a 99-93 victory over the Utah Jazz. Holiday also notched six points in the last 4:11, as the Sixers (5-4) kept the Jazz at bay to end a two...

Rockets-Jazz Preview
A new starting five didn't generate a quicker start, but the Utah Jazz still found a way to finish off a .500 trip.

Disappointed at his team's slow start in Friday's 99-93 loss at Philadelphia, Jazz coach Tyrone Corbin inserted Randy Foye...
