Mo Williams scored 19 points, Al Jefferson had 16 points and 11 rebounds, and the Utah Jazz beat the Brooklyn Nets 92-90 Tuesday night despite nearly throwing away the victory.
Utah turned it over on two inbounds passes in the final 31 seconds, the last leading to a Nets steal. They pushed it up and got a potential go-ahead 3-pointer from Gerald Wallace that missed. The Jazz escaped when Reggie Evans' follow shot was no good as time expired.
Derrick Favors added 13 points against his former franchise for the Jazz, who improved to just 5-10 on the road.
Joe Johnson scored 21 points for the Nets, who led for most of the game and by as many as 13 points before dropping their second straight.
Brook Lopez finished with 16 points and Deron Williams had 14 for the Nets, who will try to bounce back from this disappointment when they make the short trip to visit the Knicks on Wednesday.
Utah trailed for nearly the entire game before finally going ahead when Mo Williams pulled up for...
BEST OF MAXIM
Brooklyn Nets’ guard Deron Williams has been something of an enigma since he was traded to the team from the Utah Jazz last season.
Since the trade injuries and decreasing percentages have become a staple of the player that was in many hearts considered to be on the road to a Hall of Fame career.
Williams stuck with the Nets after an intense albeit somewhat brief bidding war...
For years teams have been trying to be like the San Antonio Spurs. No team has been more consistent over the last 15 years, so why not? The Spurs have built a successful mold that other teams are going to try to copy, but in my opinion, no one has accomplished that goal yet. After hitting the game winner against the Spurs last week, Utah Jazz guard Mo Williams made reference to...
Deron Williams has played in 90 games since joining the Brooklyn Nets in February of 2011, but he says he still isn’t totally settled in. For starters, he has been dealing with nagging injuries since the Utah Jazz shipped him across the country. In addition, Williams says he is not nearly as comfortable in Brooklyn’s offense as he was in Utah’s.
“I’ve really had injuries...

After deciding to re-sign with the Nets for the long-term during the offseason, point guard Deron Williams has yet to find his shooting touch. In 23 games, D-Will is only shooting 39% from the field, and 30% from the three-point line.
With their two best...
NEW YORK -- Mo Williams scored 19 points, including a clutch 3-pointer midway through the fourth quarter that gave his team the lead for good, and the Utah Jazz came from behind to topple the Brooklyn Nets 92-90 Tuesday. The Nets blew a double-digit, first-half lead en route to a loss for the sixth time this season. Brooklyn led by 13 at halftime. The Jazz (14-12) lost their...
After playing last season with the Clash hit “Should I Stay Or Should I Go” as his theme song, All-Star point guard Deron Williams decided to sign on last summer for another stint with the Nets, joining the team in their new home in Brooklyn. Although the Dallas Mavericks, put on a full-court press to sign him once he became a Free Agent, D-Will decided to stick with the squad...
GET WITH IT
Deron Williams' statistics are down from his time with the Utah Jazz, and he believes that's due to an adjustment to Brooklyn's system.
In the days after two lucky winners in Arizona and Missouri split a $600 million Powerball jackpot last month, I found myself enviously pondering, as I tore up two lunches' worth of my own losing tickets, what I might do if I woke up one morning with an extra $300 million.
I'm fairly certain I would not have poured it into the construction of a starting lineup for a professional...
Losers of six of eight in December, the Brooklyn Nets (13-10) look to get back on track as they host the Utah Jazz (13-12) tonight at the Barclays Center. Good news for Jazz fans- the Nets have defeated the Jazz just once in the last four years. Utah may be a poor road team, but Brooklyn is just 1-4 this month on the road. Could the timing be right for another Utah road victory?...
After taking steps toward ending their road struggles, the Utah Jazz would like to do the same in the second game of back-to-back situations.
That could prove difficult against the Indiana Pacers, who have been resilient when facing that challenge.
The Jazz will try to snap a three-game losing streak in the second game of back-to-backs on Wednesday night when they visit the Pacers...
