After limiting his minutes early on, coach George Karl and the Denver Nuggets are reaping the benefits from letting the "Manimal" loose.
Kenneth Faried, who earned that nickname because of his physical and aggressive play, should be in for a tough interior battle Friday night when the Nuggets host a Utah Jazz team featuring two of the top eight rebounders in the Western Conference.
Faried played less than 20 minutes in each of the first two games before receiving a boost in playing time Saturday. In his three contests since, the second-year forward has averaged 17.7 points, 12.0 rebounds and shot 64.1 percent in more than 31 minutes per game.
Faried will try to keep that strong play going against Utah's formidable frontcourt. Al Jefferson is tied for sixth in the conference with 10.0 rebounds per game, while Paul Millsap is tied with Faried for eighth at 9.6.
Jefferson posted his third double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds as the Jazz (2-3) snapped a three-g...

Late in the fourth quarter of the Rockets and Nuggets game on Wednesday night Andre Miller took alley-oops to a new level. With Denver leading by a score of 87-80, Andre Miller got a defensive rebound and started a break, but noticed teammate Kenneth Faried already sprinting and near the rim. Miller heaved up a 60-foot pass and Faried finished the alley-oop with two hands and a...
The NBA season has just begun but the Denver Nuggets are in mid-season form. In their 93-87 win over the Houston Rockets the Nuggets had a crazy alley oop.
Off a Rockets missed shot Andre Miller controlled the rebound for the Nuggets. He then took one dribble and spotted a wide open Kenneth Faried down court. Miller than threw a perfect ¾ court pass to Faried who then threw down...
We posted the above image on Facebook earlier in the day and it got some pretty solid traction. After seeing that, it got us thinking what the Nuggets roster would look like if they built it strictly with potheads. It’s pretty well assumed that a good amount of NBA players not only dabble in the sticky-icky, but are frequent users. The roster we compiled are guys who take it to...
Corey Brewer scored 13 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter, hitting four 3-pointers, and the Denver Nuggets pulled away to beat the Utah Jazz 104-84 on Friday night.
Kenneth Faried had 18 points to go with 11 rebounds and Kosta Koufos and Andre Iguodala added 15 points apiece for the Nuggets, who won their third in a row after an 0-3 start.
Gordon Hayward had 15 points to lead...

HOUSTON -- The Denver Nuggets opened the season with great expectations derived from a returning roster replete with talent and reinforced by the addition of Olympian and All-Star swingman Andre Iguodala. That it took the Nuggets four games to record their first victory inspired minor concern. But following their triumph over the Pistons on Tuesday night, the Nuggets won again...
The Denver Nuggets have managed to even their record following their first 0-3 start in six seasons. Their next opponent also carries a .500 mark into its next game but is coming off a lackluster performance.
The inconsistent Golden State Warriors will try to bounce back from that effort by earning their third win in four matchups with the visiting Nuggets on Saturday night.
