PLAYERS: Phil Jackson
TEAMS: New York Knicks
Phil Jackson continues to be the hot name brought up for the Knicks’ vacant coaching position, however, we still don’t have a definite answer as to whether Jackson has any desire to come back to coaching. But, for what it’s worth, his own girlfriend believes the legendary coach could eventually be returning to the sidelines. Jeanie Buss was a guest Friday on the Mason and Ireland show on ESPN 710 in L.A. and said that Jackson is nearly fully recovered from a recent knee surgery that corrected discomfort he had while he was coaching the Lakers and will probably coach again one day in some capacity. “He’s got his energy back,” Buss said, per I am a GM. As a matter of fact, I overheard him making plans to play tennis when he’s back in Montana with one of his friends. He hasn’t played tennis, I don’t think, in eight years. The knee replacement really is one of those operations that has such a high success rate. It gets people back to riding their bikes, or playing golf, or playing te...

DirecTV Pokes Fun At Amare Stoudemire In New TV Commercial

New York Knicks star Amar Stoudemire might be feeling a little down, as he agreed to be the butt of jokes in the latest commercial for the satellite company DirecTV, as the screenshots of the commercials appears to show Stoudemire poking fun at himself.Although it appears that Stoudemire isn't actually talking in the screenshots, it seems that a narrator is giving examples on...

Lin drowns sorrows at NYC clubs

Now that the Knicks' season is over, Jeremy Lin finally got a taste of "Linsanity." Lin and teammates Josh Harrellson, Landry Fields and Jerome Jordan had a wild night out at Meatpacking District clubs SL and 1OAK, drowning their sorrows a day after the Miami Heat knocked them out of the NBA playoffs. After cleaning out their lockers at Madison Square Garden on Thursday...

Jeremy Lin & Crew Party Their Sorrows Away

And it begins. As expected, Jeremy Lin is being kept under close watch. After the Knicks were eliminated by the Heat Wednesday night, they returned home to clean out their lockers at MSG Thursday afternoon, but it didn’t end there. Jeremy Lin, Josh Harrellson, Landry Fields and Jerome Jordan had a night on the town, seen at SL and 1OAK in New York City’s Meatpacking District...

Time Is Running Out For J.R. Smith

Time is running out for J.R. Smith. According to an NBA source, Smith has to notify the Knicks on opting out of the final year of his 2.5 million dollar contract by June 26th.  Despite J.R.’s sub par performance in the Heat series- shooting just 17 percent (5-28) from beyond the arc, Glen Grunwald is optimistic Smith will not opt-out. A source said that he is leaning toward...

What’s Next for the Knicks?

Everyone is asking where the Knicks go from here.  Should they make Mike Woodson the permanent coach? Can the “Linsanity” continue? And most importantly should the Knicks look to trade Carmelo Anthony or Amar’e Stoudemire? In a city that lives on making off-season moves and moving pieces as if these sports are chess pieces, it’s the Knicks that are a team that doesn’t need...

Knicks to shop for veteran point guard

When interim coach Mike Woodson stopped short of anointing Jeremy Lin the Knicks' starting point guard for next season, he did so with a reason. The Knicks have eyes on landing a veteran point guard to share the load and do not want to close the door on any point-guard recruits. The Knicks have their list of capable point guards to pursue in free agency, which begins July 1...

Report: Phil Jackson doesn’t like Melo’s game

The New York Knicks have gone fishin’ for the season, but that doesn’t mean the rumors have or will stop. Phil Jackson has long been tied to the New York Knicks this season, until the Knickerbockers decided to go with Mike Woodson reportedly scared of Phil’s “age and health.” That doesn’t stop the Phil Jackson drama [...]

Photo of the Week: The Knicks Gone Fishing

This reminds me of those funny photoshops they do on TNT at Halftime.   Look, I’m a Knicks fan and there was no way they were beating the Heat.  They put up a decent effort and considering all the injuries and drama this season, I can’t be that disappointed. Granted the talent level should mean a way better team but I’d rather not get into that.  Let’s see if they stick...

Knicks To Pursue Veteran Free Agent Point Guard

The Knicks will pursue a veteran point guard in free agency to pair with Jeremy Lin.

Knicks Have Not Reached Out To Phil Jackson

Knicks owner James Dolan has not reached out to Phil Jackson about returning to the sidelines.

2012 NBA Playoffs: Amare Stoudemire Dunks On Joel Anthony

The Case for Steve Nash Over Jeremy Lin

Jeremy Lin captivated the sporting world during its darkest period of the year: the dead time between the end of the NFL season and the kick-off of spring training baseball. “Linsanity” not only captivated the hardcore sports fan, but also donned the cover of Time Magazine. Lin was becoming a phenomenon and the Knicks were finally back. Unfortunately, the Jeremy Lin story ended...

Knicks fans' poll: We like Amar'e Stoudemire's fire extinguisher

The New York Daily News is conducting a "Knicks' Keep 'Em/Dump 'Em" web poll and after the first day of returns, it is clear who the fan favorites are— and aren't.   In a tight race, the fire extinguisher that Amar'e Stoudemire tried to take out in Miami's AmericanAirlines Arena got 51% on the "keep" side. That's funny because only...
