New York Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin has caught the world on fire in recent weeks and merchandise related to him has become invaluable.
Lin’s National Treasures “Laundry Tag” basketball card sold on Feburary 10th on popular auction site, EBay for $4,800. The card included a laundry tag from one of Lin’s jerseys and caused a frenzy on EBay between multiple bidders.
This type of value for a basketball card– for a newcomer at that– is unprecedented and a great example of the hype which surrounds the rising star from Harvard.
There’s little doubt Jeremy Lin is marketing gold right now, and you can bet people have approached him with every endorsement deal possible.
One can only hope he remains to stay calm, focuses on playing basketball, and doesn’t let the hype which pervades to get to his head.
Given how he has handled it all so far, Jeremy Lin will handle it all in stride.
