Jeremy Lin, who is also known by many other nicknames, such as “Linsanity,” has taken the NBA by storm, leading the New York Knicks to five straight wins.
The Asian sensation claims that former All Star center Yao Ming has been a mentor to him, and according to the New York Daily News, the two are close friends and go to dinner when they are in the same city.
“I talk to Yao after every game,” Lin said.. “He’s taken me out to eat every time we’re in the same city. He’s obviously a role model and a big brother to me and we keep in touch all the time.”
The former Houston Rockets center retired last summer due to nagging foot injuries, but before that he was and remains to this day, an ambassador to the NBA.
Lin could not have picked a better role model.
With Amar’e Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony set to return from injuries very soon, one wonders how long “Linsanity” will continue.
