Some players out there may not appreciate the Lakers’ incredible history and remarkable achievements over the years, but Jodie Meeks isn’t one of them.
During an interview with Dave McMenamin of ESPN Los Angeles, Meeks called the Lakers a “high-class organziation”, and hopes to bring another championship to the city of L.A:
Meeks stays positive when thinking about next season (“I think we’ll still have a good team and I think we’ll still make the playoffs,” Meeks said) and his long-term future with the franchise (“You’re part of a high-class organization that has won a lot of championships and hopefully I can be on the next one that wins.”)
Meeks could still turn out to be a steal for the Lakers; he signed a two-year deal for the league minimum last summer in the hopes of winning a championship. Of course, that didn’t work out too well, and Meeks’ up-and-down shooting was disappointing, though the guard is said to be working hard this summer and is hoping to have a bounce-back year next season.
Meeks recognizes what it means to be a Laker and those are the kind of players who deserve to wear the purple and gold. Hopefully, his respect for the franchise will translate into him having a great year out there on the basketball court next season.

I'd like to get something off my chest. I'd like to say it without a horde of purple-and-gold-bedecked Lakers fans clubbing me to death.
I won't be disappointed if Kobe Bryant doesn't suit up for the Lakers' opening night game on Oct. 29. I won't be surprised, either. I might even be pleased.
None of that has anything to do with any feelings I have toward...

You might remember a few years ago when Ronny Turiaf served as the hype man for Kobe’s fake viral video that featured him jumping over a speeding Aston Martin. Now, Turiaf has a video of his own…and it features the veteran NBA big man jumping over a monster truck. It’s pretty clear some of these dudes just have way too much free time on their hands. A+ celebration game though...
There are few truths in this world.
One appears to be the Lakers wanting Phil Jackson to be their head coach. Whether Jeanie Buss, Jackson's fiance(?), talks about the possibility of Phil returning more or not, the two are tied together and, thus, the franchise is tied to Jackson.
Let Phil Jackson put the kibash on that notion right now. . . for now. Jackson told the...
As has become common this spring and summer, Kobe Bryant continued to update fans of his recovery progress via social media on Monday morning.
