Celtics fans, RELAX! KG isn’t going anywhere. I read this SLAM article today which discussed a recent Kevin Garnett appearance on The Dan Patrick Show. During the interview, KG mentioned, during the summer of 2007, he was almost a Laker: “I was pretty close, to be honest….Kobe [Bryant] and Phil [Jackson] at the time were at each other pretty bad. The situation was full of uncertainty. It wasn’t something I wanted to get into… It was my choice not to go to the Lakers.” As we learned later, that would prove to be a wise move with KG, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen winning the 2008 title in their first year together in Boston. Or WAS IT A GOOD DECISION?? I’ll get to that soon. For kicks, I looked back at the Lakers’ 2006-07 roster to see how bad that team was.
