DATELINE: HUMOR! Since being moved to play a position he detests, Kevin Garnett of the Boston Celtics has been playing like a young pup. No matter where he plays, KG always resembles a young whelp. After spearheading another Celtic victory, the kingpin and centerpiece of the Celtics Big Three held a postgame interview in which he took on the media about being in his dotage. Singling out each reporter in turn, he noted whether their hair was gray, thinning, absent, or hideously unstyled, to turn the tables on the ancient media that are in their cups. Garnett was taking umbrage at the charge that he was “old” or “older.” A man who is rapidly approaching 36, Garnett pointed out that he was in the prime of life and only “thirty-something.” Whatever media does in Boston, they should refrain from calling hoary KG an old coot or Gabby Curmudgeon. He has, like Spock, lived long and prospered, but merely revealed he is wiser, not older. “Aged in the Wood” may be the classic name for his vint...

KG has no love for the Wolves

Even without a title, Kevin Garnett had his best years in Minnesota, but when asked about the past, he couldn't find anything nice to say about his former squad.

Garnett Double-Double Leads Celtics Over Jazz

The Celtics got another all important win coming down the homestretch of the regular season. The Jazz gave the Celtics all they could handle in the 1st and 3rd quarters, but strong 2nd and 4th quarters allowed the C’s to win 94-82 over Utah. Kevin Garnett played an integral part in the big win as he posted yet another double-double (23 points, 10 rebounds). His 10 points in the...

Greatest Players in NBA History: Kevin Garnett

In this blog I pick one of the top players in NBA history as voted on in this project and discuss some of his career accomplishments…in other words, what made him so great that he deserves a spot among the greatest? This week’s player is Kevin Garnett, either a jack-of-all-trades/master-of-none or one of the most complete players in NBA history that...

Ouch. KG has "Nothing Positive to Say"

Kevin Garnett was recently asked his thoughts on his upcoming return to "Sota" and here's what he had to say... "It’s always special to come back to true fans and your foundation, but as far as that franchise, I have nothing positive to say. So I’ll just let it be that. I think Kevin Love's playing at a high level, I think he’s rejuvenated the city...

KG doin' work vs the Bobcats

I absolutely loved the effort last night by Kevin Garnett, especially the moves in the paint. After the jump, my favorite play - the fake, drive and dunk on Mullens. "Scrape him off the ceiling..."

Recap: KG sticks it to Wolves, one more time

The Celtics started strong and finished even stronger in tonight's 100-79 victory over the Wolves. Kevin Garnett was phenomenal: 24 points, 12-18 FG, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 block. He dropped 10 points in the 4th quarter. The Wolves tried to make a run midway thru the 4th, but Garnett slammed the door. After re-entering the game (Stiemsma fouled out) at the 5:26 mark,...

When Kevins collide: KG gets the better of Love

MINNEAPOLIS It's the most confusing of coincidences, a franchise defined by two players who share little more than a first name. That name, Kevin, has forced two men together when little else besides Minnesota links them. It joins the hope of the present with the standard set by the fading past, and with each passing season, fewer Kevin Garnett jerseys dot the stands of the...

Ice is back with a not-so-new invention

MINNEAPOLIS It looked a lot like the 1990s on Friday night at the Target Center. With Kevin Garnett on the court and Vanilla Ice performing at halftime, it hardly seemed like 2012, and the anachronism was nothing if not entertaining. It was enough for Minnesota Timberwolves guard Martell Webster to yell, Ice, ice baby, in the locker room before the game, dancing and moving with...

Doc Rivers Could Have Sensitive Issue on His Hands If He Elects to Rest Celtics Veterans Down the Stretch

BOSTON -- One of these days, Kevin Garnett may have to sit out a game. Garnett won't like it -- he has played in 47 out of a possible 50 games this season, after all, and has appeared in more than 90 percent of his team's games in 12 separate seasons -- but eventually Celtics coach Doc Rivers is going to have to break the bad news to his veteran non-center. If it becomes...

Battle of the Kevin’s: Boston Celtics vs. Minnesota Timberwolves

Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and the Boston Celtics are in Minnesota tonight to take on MVP candidate Kevin Love and the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Celtics enter the game tied for the Atlantic Division lead with a record of 28-22 after beating the Utah Jazz 94-82 on Wednesday night at TD Garden.  On the other [...]

Portland trying to lure Danny Ainge away from Boston?

After trading away anyone of substance from their roster at the deadline and firing their coach shortly after, the Portland Trail Blazers have reopened their search for a general manager. I know what you're thinking. Big whoop. Good for them. They're 3,000 miles away. What does that have to do with the Celtics? According to The Oregonian, one person that Portland...

Celtics Stay Hot With Win Over Jazz

The Celtics beat a good Utah Jazz squad at the Garden last night to move to 13-5 since the All Star break. Celtics 94, Jazz 82: C’s make sweet music – Scott Souza has basketball junkie Paul Pierce enjoying himself. Is Kevin Garnett the center for now, and the future? – Based on KG’s play at the five this season, Paul Flannery wonders if he might be in that position for a...

Celtics 100, Timberwolves 79: Four in a row

The Celtics seized sole possession of the Atlantic Division lead for the first time all season, Rajon Rondo dominated an NBA game while shooting three for 11 and scoring six points, Avery Bradley continues to masquerade as a perfectly solid starting shooting guard, Kevin Garnett and crew made Kevin Love slightly uncomfortable all night long, and the aging process (except for you...
